Meet Trevor Francis | Founder and CEO of 46 Labs

We had the good fortune of connecting with Trevor Francis and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Trevor, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I’ve always been passionate about fixing broken systems, or things that were overlooked because they were too difficult to fix. Early in my career, I spent time in Central America and Africa, where telecom networks, though government-operated and inefficient, often moved faster due to fewer layers of red tape compared to the U.S. Those experiences opened my eyes: even the supposedly advanced telecom infrastructure in the U.S. was built on a patchwork of outdated systems. That realization sparked the idea for 46 Labs. I founded the company to simplify the process, cut through the clutter, and create more efficient, streamlined networks for better, global communication.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At its core, my work is about solving the invisible problems that hold modern communication back. Most people don’t think about how voice, messaging, and data move across the globe but for large enterprises, every delay, dropped call, or routing inefficiency can lead to a negative business impact. At 46 Labs, we’ve developed technology that simplifies how global communications flow by replacing outdated, fragmented systems with a unified, programmable approach. It’s about more than just making things faster or cheaper. We’re giving businesses visibility into their networks, control over their traffic, and the ability to adapt in real time. If there’s one thing I’d want readers to understand, it’s this: the future of connectivity isn’t just about more bandwidth or 5G rollouts. It’s about removing the guesswork and delivering communications infrastructure that’s as dynamic as the businesses it serves. That’s the future we’re building at 46 Labs: one where enterprises aren’t limited by the complexity of the global telecom ecosystem, but empowered by the simplicity and control we deliver behind the scenes.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d definitely take them to our new office in Dallas’ West End since we recently moved our headquarters there. It’s the perfect blend of rich history with modern attractions and was once Dallas’ hub for commerce and manufacturing. The office is also close to Deep Ellum, another historic neighborhood that offers an array of unique dining and shopping experiences that I’d show them as well. Some of my favorite spots around the city are St. Pete’s Dancing Marlin, Burger House and YO Ranch Steakhouse. Most importantly, I’d want them to leave with a clear sense of what makes Dallas unique: it’s a city that’s evolving fast, but it’s grounded in people who build, create, and push forward. That’s why we’re excited to grow 46 Labs in the West End. It’s not just a headquarters, it’s a stake in a city that’s shaping the future alongside us.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to give a shout out to the 46 Labs team. The work we do, modernizing global communications infrastructure, solving invisible problems, and replacing outdated systems with intelligent solutions isn’t easy. It takes a rare combination of technical excellence, deep curiosity, and a willingness to challenge convention. And that’s exactly what our team brings to the table every day.
