We had the good fortune of connecting with Trenice J. Brinkley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Trenice, what do you attribute your success to?

The most important factor behind Soigne`+Swank Magazine’s success is our purpose, message, and our team. Soigne’ + Swank Magazine™ is a digital publication that curates black excellence in business, entertainment, lifestyle, careers, and fashion. Dedicated to honoring our ancestors and inspiring the black and indigenous culture, this magazine is committed to sharing and highlighting powerful thought-provoking stories, journeys of failure to success, and empowering all things black excellence from around the world.
Soigne’ + Swank Magazine™ focuses on content that uplifts, empowers, inspires, and highlights black excellence from entrepreneurship to the executive c-suite. We spotlight issues blacks and indigenous people face culturally, economically, and socially. Our support has come from our consistent advertisers and readers. Finally, we have a great team that promotes our message and uplifting content.

What should our readers know about your business?

I first got into publishing in 1995. The first magazine I ever contributed to was Teens Times Today Magazine in Miami, Florida. Writing for that publication opened a ton of doors for me. I tried several businesses before I realized my passion was publishing, public relations, and management. I eventually found my way back home to publishing. The transition was not easy coming from the consulting world of helping service-based business owners. I recognized there was a need for brand exposure, and that led me back into public relations and publishing.
Although I had several years of experience in publishing and public relations, due to the constant changes that took place within the news and media world, I had to overcome the challenge of feeling like a newbie. The lesson I learned throughout this process is no matter how much experience you have perseverance is key to your success.
My business partner and I planned out our every move in order to be successful. Today, Two Queens Media produces the Black Excellence publication Soigne’+Swank Magazine ™. We are unique because our brand focuses on black & indigenous culture and positivity in our communities. In addition to the magazine, Two Queens Media is a full-service public relations and management firm that is committed to advancing entrepreneurs, content curators, writers, and more. We specialize in brand exposure, media/entertainment promotions, and client management.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I recommend  that they eat at the Punch Bowl Social Dallas, Blends Daiquiri Lounge for their drinks, make sure they visit The Dallas Arboretum and the Botanical Garden, and my favorite picture hang out -Lot 64 Murals.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate this article and our company’s success to our contributing writers, advertisers, and readers. Also, I have to shoutout the heartbeats of this brand; to my husband Eldon Brinkley, our Co-Founder, and my ying to my yang Lynnecia S. Eley, because none of this would be possible without her and her husband Calvin Eley. Finally, the Queens wouldn’t be in business without “The Great” Donald L.West Jr. They all have been instrumental in the overall development and marketing of our brand and deserve to be recognized for the important roles they have played in the growth and success of Two Queens Media & Soigne’+Swank Magazine™.
