Hi Tram, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business has always been a dream of mine. From a young age, I’ve had a deep fascination with fashion, which grew as I received numerous compliments on my style whenever I stepped out. This passion, combined with a desire to empower others, inspired me to create Mypheme. I noticed many young women struggling to find their unique style without breaking the bank or compromising on ethics. Mypheme aims to address this by offering an accessible, affordable, and ethical fashion platform. It’s not just about clothes; it’s about building confidence and expressing individuality.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
What truly sets my business apart is our genuine commitment to listening to our customers. We take their feedback seriously and continually strive to meet their needs. One of the developments I’m most excited about is our recent expansion in product sizes. We can now cater to women of all sizes, which has been a significant step towards inclusivity.

Reaching where we are today has been a journey marked by persistence. It wasn’t about possessing extraordinary talent, but about embodying a never-give-up attitude and always being ready to try again, no matter the setbacks. Running a business is challenging, not just in terms of operational or market hurdles, but in building the strong mindset needed to overcome these challenges.

One crucial lesson I’ve learned is that opportunities often come only once. You must always be prepared, willing to take risks, and bold enough to seize them. Missed opportunities can mean waiting a long time for another chance. So, my advice is to always be ready, stay hungry, and be strong enough to tackle bigger challenges. This philosophy is what I hope to impart through our brand—to inspire and empower women to embrace their uniqueness and boldly face their own challenges.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting, I’d showcase the best of Texas, starting in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. We’d begin in Fort Worth at the historic Stockyards, immersing ourselves in authentic cowboy culture. After experiencing the rodeos and Western shops, we’d enjoy an evening at Thompson’s Bookstore Cocktail Bar in Fort Worth, a unique spot that combines the charm of a vintage bookstore with innovative cocktails.

Next, we’d head to Dallas to explore renowned museums like the Dallas Museum of Art and the Perot Museum of Nature and Science, capturing the city’s artistic and innovative spirit. We’d also dive into the vibrant city life, dining at trendy spots and catching a live show in the Deep Ellum district.

Midweek, we’d start our road trip to Austin, making a special stop at the legendary Salt Lick BBQ. It’s a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Texas barbecue in a rustic setting. Afterward, we’d continue to Blue Hole Regional Park for some swimming and hiking, enjoying a serene escape into nature.

Once in Austin, our adventures would include kayaking on Lady Bird Lake and relaxing in the peaceful, scenic surroundings. Throughout our journey, we’d savor local flavors, from Tex-Mex in Fort Worth to farm-to-table delicacies in Austin, ensuring a week filled with memorable experiences and tastes.

The journey to where I am today has been significantly shaped by the support and encouragement from those around me. Foremost, I must dedicate my shoutout to my husband. He has been an unwavering pillar of strength and encouragement. During moments of doubt and the inevitable ups and downs that come with running a business, he has always been there, providing not just emotional support but also practical insights that have helped steer my company forward. His belief in my capabilities and his constant reassurance have been invaluable. My husband truly deserves a great deal of credit for his role in my story.
