We had the good fortune of connecting with Tracy Cass and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tracy, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
My mother and my grandmother taught me that I can do anything that I put my mind to. I have held on to this belief all of my life, and it has allowed me to accomplish great things. If I have a dream or a goal, I develop a plan and grind until I achieve it. It is this type of determination that has allowed me to write two novels, Labor of Love and All That Matters.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Writing is not my full-time job, but I am excited to be starting this journey even at this late stage in life. I am excited to write stories for women like me, women who are beautiful, relatable, funny, driven, successful, and flawed. Pouring your heart and soul into a project requires you to be vulnerable because you never know how the world will receive your work. I am learning to develop a thick skin, and use constructive feedback to help me grow as a writer. It’s only up from here!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There is so much to do in Fort Worth and Dallas…where do I begin? Kimball Art Museum, Modern Art Museum, the Stockyards, Six Flags Over Texas, shopping in Clearfork. I would have to let my friend experience the Fort Worth nightlife, so we are going to hang out in Sundance Square followed by barhopping on West 7th Street! We will hit up Deep Ellum or Trinity Groves in Dallas. And, we will definitely stop at the original Fuel City Tacos near downtown. To add a little color to the visit we will have to work in a trip to RL’s Blues Palace.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I definitely have to thank God. My family also deserves a huge thank you, especially my mother and my sisters. My friends also play a huge role in motivating me. Much love to all of them.
