Meet Tori Williams | Licensed Eyelash Extensions Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tori Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Tori, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I took the biggest risk in my life by starting a business during Covid. I started my journey in the beauty industry by going to PMU school May of ‘20. I then took their eyelash course 2 months later. Eyelash extensions became my full time career in 2020, yes the same year I completed school. Usually beauty services would be a want & not a need. So I had a few doubts during the beginning of my journey. But I remember in 2021, clients were contacting me trying to come to their appointments during a snowstorm lol. I learned quickly that beauty services are a necessity. This risk was well worth every doubt.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have a special styling technique which separates me from other lash techs. My ability to create a custom, unique freestyle sets for each client makes me love what I do. Along with meeting a variety of beautiful souls during this journey. In the beginning, the road was not easy. This was simply because I was not using the best products & not having balance. Once I gained knowledge on better products, it was a cake walk from there. So I thought. I then had to learn when to give myself a break. I would start my day at 8am & end it at 7/8pm. Once I realized how much of a necessity eyelash extensions were, I knew I could customize my schedule to my liking. Having a balance between business & home is most important step that should be established in the beginning. I would like the world to know that I have came a long way & I’m still coming!! This is my beginning!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Ojedas for food & drinks w/o a doubt. Then a bowling alley or any type physical activities.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give praise to the most high & my family. Starting a business while being a mother of 3 was challenging. My family support is how I’m able to continue doing what I love. Sings “& to my man, thank you to my man” lol.
