We had the good fortune of connecting with TONY COLES and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TONY, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
How I know whether to keep going or to give up is by never giving up. KEEP GOING. Despite the circumstance(s) you face, if you truly have a goal and a passion to accomplish in your life, giving up shouldn’t even be an option. Yes, there will be low times during the process, but after every storm there’s a brighter day that follows. Whatever it is you want to accomplish in your life, you’ll never achieve it if you give up. However, if you keep trying and hacking away at it, day by day you’ll get closer. Trust and believe in the process, and that’s facts periodt.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I would say sets me apart from others is my own individuality. Everyone’s interpretation of music is different, therefore everyone has there own sound and certain”groove” they tend to roll with. I’m fortunate enough to have been classically trained in music, which I know for handful of producers isn’t the case. A lot start from scratch not knowing squat about scales, keys, notation, etc. Even though I still have a long way to go, I defiantly have made progress even within the past few months of producing. It’s defiantly a grind with still having to work and go to school, I try and make the most out of the 24 hours I have everyday to inch closer and closer to my goal. Everyday is a test, and what I’ve learned is that even though it may not seem like there’s progress being made, I know that I have to crawl before I can walk, and walk before I can run, and run before I can sprint. There are levels to producing and everyday I’m learning and figuring out how to walk before I start running. The world should know that even though I’m still in the beginning stages of my career, I know that I have what it takes to provide the world with a new sound for the new generation, just wait and see.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
It’s funny because I don’t tend to go out a lot unless it involves building my career, but if I were to show them a good time, I’d take them to downtown Dallas. Main St. in Dallas is always popping with music, from club music, live music, and street performers, it’s a great vibe down there. Also, I don’t eat out a lot to be honest, but I’d take my friend to Logan’s Roadhouse, their rolls are hands down the best I’ve ever had. I usually just get the roadhouse trio, because believe it or not, I’m not a fan of steak. Another place I’d take my friend is the The Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas. They have so many dope and hands on displays that make science seem really cool and exciting. Then ofc there’s Six Flags, I actually used to work there in the entertainment department back in 2019 until COVID hit and we all unfortunately lost our jobs right before quarantine. I haven’t been back in a minute though because I’m trying to focus on my career.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I first want to thank God who has kept me and always looked out for me. Secondly my Mom, Dad, and Sister who mean the absolute world me and always supported everything I do. And ofc all my friends and family who are always ready to be there for me when they can. I love all of you!!
