We had the good fortune of connecting with Tisha Holman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tisha, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my business is two-fold. The first being, after working in corporate America, I had the epiphany one day that I was not created with the God-given gifts and talents I have to support someone else’s dream. I felt unfulfilled working long hours in an environment that wasn’t truly ever going to reward what I was putting in to the organization – something had to change. The second being, it is very important to me to build legacy and generational wealth for my family. I wanted to show my daughter what is possible for her when she discovers her gifts and finds a way to make them work for her in a productive and profitable way.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Mind Your Business is full-service Digital Marketing company that helps service-based businesses and organizations develop an amazing representation of their business online. I recognized a need for STRATEGY in the digital marketplace. I was working with clients who weren’t maximizing their earning potential and I knew I had the solution. I help organizations experience the peace that a well-developed strategy with good systems will bring them as a busy leader, which frees them up to focus on the areas of the business that bring in the big bucks. I’m able to suggest things you’ve never considered. My natural gift is to see the visionary big picture and create strategies you’ve never thought of that will take you right to the goal.

For service-based businesses, we are the leading digital marketing firm that helps them claim the #1 spot in their industry. Unlike other digital marketing strategists, we shift the trajectory of their digital marketing through a creative, strategic, and systematic approach to experience real success in this space. With our help, our clients have climbed to the top of the NY Times best-sellers list and seen an average of 25-125% of growth online within a years’ time.

The biggest lesson I have learned along my journey is to never give up. Even the things you perceive to be failures are all working together for your good (Romans 8:28). Many have described me to be tenacious, and I believe that has been an integral piece to the wins in business I have fortunate enough to experience.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So interestingly enough, although I have been in the Dallas area for six years, I very much feel like a tourist, as there are many places I have yet to experience…but here are a few of my favorite things: If a friend were coming to visit me, they are going to have to pack their gym clothes! One of my favorite things to do is workout at my local gym. Depending on the day, we could end up in spin class, kickboxing or just hitting the free weights! I am a self-proclaimed foodie, so tasty food is definitely on the menu! One of the awesome things about DFW is the many diverse options for good food – we could legitimately take a culinary world tour here over the course of a week. I also love to put on my dancing shoes and cut a rug from time to time….swing out anyone? I can’t leave Sundance Square off of the list – from the Jubilee Theater to enjoying live music in Sundance Square on a summer night – Bass Performance Hall to a great steak….Sundance Square never disappoints.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a shoutout to my daughter, Sydney Alexandria. She may not be entirely aware of this, but she is the real motivation behind every bright idea, accomplishment and endeavor I seek to pursue. Everything I do is about making life better and creating opportunities for her. She is the wind beneath my wings. She is always willing to jump in and help me fill orders, give input on drafts/concepts, and has even been known to work the product table during my speaking engagements. She is an awesome kid and I’m thankful to have her in my corner.
