Meet Tim Nguyen: Cosmetic Dentist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Tim Nguyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tim, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I think the main thing with starting or owning your own business is being able to do it the way that you want to. Working for someone else can be great, but not if there are differences in how you think that business should be run. There are challenges as well, but I find that at the end of the day if you can complete that day and treat people the way that you think they should be treated then that is the best possible situation to be in and owning a business provided me that opportunity.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think one of the best things about being a cosmetic dentist is that no two cases are the same because everyone is different. When providing a cosmetic dental service someone is seeking you out for your expertise to help them fulfill the vision that they have for themselves. I truly enjoy every step of the process. In cosmetic dentistry one of the most important aspects of a good clinician is being able to listen to the patient because at the end of the day what is important is what they think and my role is to bring that vision to life. It is cliche to say but it takes hard work and dedication to your craft in order to be successful. The term “never stop learning” is so applicable here because things in the world change so rapidly it is incumbent on you to stay on top of your game.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh man where to begin! Dallas is such a diverse city with something for everyone I truly believe. When visiting a new city I like to look at the architecture and neighborhoods so I would take someone on a drive through some of the great neighborhoods so they can get a sense of the city. Food wise you can’t go wrong with great sushi at Uchi or Tei An!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would credit my practice success to my mentorship and partnership of Dr. Ron Bosher; we found each other at the right time. But above all else I would not be where I am without the love and support of my parents who instilled in me from a young age the skills in order to succeed.
