We had the good fortune of connecting with Tiffany Willis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tiffany, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
I have always been a creative person as well as a goofy person. When I first started my business, I was so adamant about keeping my goofy personality away from anything business related. I learned that was a mistake. I have gained more customers and more social media followers by allowing my personality to be combined with the way I market. I have, also, tried to keep myself on a business schedule. I work full time plus attend school so it gets easy to think of business as less of priority than it should be. Keeping myself on a schedule helps me to not become overwhelmed and it helps me to remember that this is more than business to me, it’s a real passion.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I make homemade cold process soaps, lotions, body butters, scrubs, bath truffles, and more. A big part of my collection is inspired by music videos. Some are inspired by conversations with family and friends. Some of the products get inspired by custom requests. It wasn’t easy getting to where I am. Personal complications and school being taking up a big part of my free time had me thinking about my choice to start the business when I did. Along the way, I had to learn to prioritize what I enjoy and make time for it. Making soap and body butter is actually relaxing. It takes away a lot of mental strain. The fact that my customers love my products is icing on the cake.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When out of state friends visit, I can take them out to eat or to some of the favorite dance spots. Tulsa, Oklahoma isn’t really known much for our culture unless we have places that I just haven’t heard of. We do have tourist spots on Black Wallstreet I could show. But not too much else.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love shout out Courtney Reed for being a huge support as I started this journey. She’s more than just a sounding board, she’s a friend, a confidant, and a “get up and get sh*t done” when I need. Another woman that deserves a shout out is one of my best friends Jamelah Fortenberry. A few years ago, I gave Jamelah a couple of lotion bars as a birthday gift. She mistakenly used them as soap and raved about how much she loved them and needed more. From there, I started my research and set out to start my soap company.
