We had the good fortune of connecting with The Carwell Sisters and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi The Carwell Sisters, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Our thought process behind starting Light In Truth (L.I.T) was to create something that we could watch God grow. Starting this business was a tangible accountability partner for us. We wanted to create something we could look back on and see how far we had grown in Christ. The goal has always been and will always be strengthening our walk with God. This business is truly a reflection of where we are in life and hopefully we can inspire others on this journey.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets Light In Truth apart is that this is not just a business for us, it’s a personal growth tool. We use our brand to measure who and where we are in our walk with God. We are most proud when people resonate with the scripture that inspired the design. We are where we are today through continued forgiveness; forgiving ourselves for making mistakes because we know this business journey is not going to be perfect. Is it easy, no! But we know that forgiving each other as sisters and business partners allows us to let go of the things that are not relevant to this journey, so we are able to push forward toward our business and personal goals.

We would like the world to know that we are a faith based christian apparel brand. Our brand is for the fly believer who AIMS to express their faith in a stylish way and spark conversation that spreads the good news. We want you to be confident in your Christian apparel, so we encourage you to Get L.I.T at brunch, Be L.I.T at work, and Stay L.I.T at church with Light In Truth Apparel.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day 1: We would go to Bar Louie for good late night food, good music and great Martinis Day 2: We would go to Plano west for shopping, and Brunch at Haywire
Day 3: We can jet over to Grandscape in the Colony and enjoy a little adult miniature golf at the Puttery. Wine down with some froze’ at the Colony Wine Bar, and then head over to Andretti Karting and Games for a little friendly competition

Day 4; We love sports, so we would catch a Mavericks or Rangers  game.

Day 5: We would get cute and catch a show at the House of Blues.

Day 6: We would grab a bite on the patio at the Reservoir. You can’t come to Texas without having a good burger.

Day 7: We would go to Clyde Warrens Park to walk around to enjoy the serene atmosphere, catch the trolley through uptown to shop, and then end the day at Yard Bird.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First, we would like to give a huge shoutout to our dearest friend Ashley Turner for showing us how to create our own product so we could cut down on our production cost and continue to expand our business. We would also like to shoutout our friends and family for always being available when we needed them, whether it was for words of advise, helping us create marketing material, or simply just buying our products. Lastly, we would like to shoutout our parents for their continued support and encouragement throughout this joinery; without them we wouldn’t be L.I.T.
