Hi Tempest, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
My favorite quote is “Anything you can imagine can be real” by Walt Disney . This means to me that whatever dream we chase no matter how big the vision we have , we can do it because our imagination has no limit ! I like that this quote is inspirational and is a reminder that if your vision is imaginable then even the impossible is very possible!

What should our readers know about your business?
Something that sets Pretty Parkway apart from others , that I am really excited about is that it is the first and only speakeasy Lash & Makeup bar located in Plano Texas! The hidden door to our secret world of beauty not only gives our clients an exclusive experience but also intimate professional personalized care . I got where I am today by taking a chance, and making small plans to accomplish bigger goals . I have a dual masters degree in counseling and I am a natural artist who worked in Corporate for 6 years but my love for people and gift for Art pushed me into the beauty industry. I then obtained my lash license, followed by my esthetics license and progressed to being an esthetics Instructor at other beauty schools! It has not been easy at all and owning a business will always have its high and lows but the important thing to remember is to stay on course , learn from your mistakes, give yourself the space to grow , trust the process and enjoy the journey! I overcame some obstacles by trying my best to focus on the solutions instead of giving so much energy to the problems when they arise . Also being around like minded people , asking questions , giving myself grace to grow, and utilizing local business resources like the SBA . I want the world to know that my brands purpose is to ELEVATE other professionals and EMPOWER my clients through our products , lash therapy services, self care Sundays , and monthly professional trainings.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am super spontaneous and absolutely love my city and food so I would have to put those ideas in a hat and we would have to draw daily ! It’s so much to do in Texas ! If she wanted makeup or lash services I’m taking her to the only exclusive speakeasy beauty bar in Plano Texas!!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Special shoot out to my village! My family for helping me to balance and also for always showing up for me ! My friends for their honesty , accountability and full support in everything I do . Lastly my husband Dralan for believing in me and cheering me on even in my moments of doubt. Your encouragement pushes me to new levels daily!
