We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Martin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Taylor, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I realized early on that I could trust myself to stay motivated and to take excellent care of my clients without needing someone to tell me what to do. Real estate felt like the perfect fit—not just because I enjoy the work, but because I thrive on the challenges it brings. I love building and maintaining relationships, negotiating on behalf of my clients, and marketing my brand in creative ways. While not having a boss is definitely a perk, I’ve learned that true success comes from treating myself as my own boss and holding myself accountable every day.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I want people to know that my brand is me, it’s built on how deeply I value my clients. When people think of TaylorMade Real Estate, I want them to think about trust, relationships, and dedication. What sets me apart is that once you’re my client, you’re always on my radar. I’m committed to maintaining strong relationships not only with my clients, but also with lenders, builders, and sales agents. I believe that when those connections are strong, it creates a smoother process and ensures my clients are truly well taken care of.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would start things off with brunch at Restoration Hardware—a gorgeous rooftop restaurant with mimosas flowing—before heading downstairs to swoon over all the beautiful furniture. Then, of course, a nap is in order… because I fully believe in recharging before round two.

Next up, I’d check out what’s happening at Legacy West. There’s always something going on—plus, the displays there are perfect for the cutest photo ops. A stroll through the area wouldn’t be complete without a stop at Madewell’s sale section.

From there, we’d head to Downtown McKinney for the ultimate small-town charm. Ice cream at the Cocktail Creamery, then a glass of wine and some people-watching at Landon’s Winery—it’s the perfect combo.

And we can’t forget The Glen at The Star—it’s such a girly, fun spot, and their oyster shots are a must!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My husband and my entire family deserve so much recognition for their constant support. With our one-year-old not yet in daycare, having family and friends step in has been a game-changer—it’s allowed me to balance being a mom and running my business. Thanks to them, I can still be fully dedicated to my clients while being present for my daughter.
