We had the good fortune of connecting with Taylor Glaser and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Taylor, what do you want people to remember about you?
I hope I am remembered by being the one who was always truthful to herself. I have been told so many times that I am “too much” of so many things. That I talk too much, that I wear too much pink, that I always have too much going on with my outfits… but for me, there is never too much of anything. Those “negative” traits that people would perceive me to have are actually my biggest strengths – I wish I had learned that sooner.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I always thought I was not creative or artistic because I couldn’t draw, paint, or sing… you know, the typical “art” that we are taught in school. Though, as time has gone on, I realized how creative I was and that my “art” might not be the same as a canvas painting, but it still was a way that I could best express myself. I still am figuring out how to overcome challenges on the daily, but it makes it all so much more worth it. They always says that if you love what you do, you won’t work a day in your life, and I could not agree with that statement more today. I have mostly learned that I am capable of so much more than I could have ever imagined. I just want everyone to know that they can also start a business! Seriously… do it! You might fail, you might succeed, but either way, you will learn so much about yourself.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am a big city girl at heart, which is why I love all Dallas has to offer. I have been here about five years and I still get overwhelmed when people come to town, as there are so many fun things to do. I am all for a creative cocktail, a unique restaurant, and visiting all of the fun boutiques and small businesses. I love that there are so many unique areas in the DFW area. There really is something for everyone here.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Everyone who knows me knows that I am a huge Dolly Parton fan. She is not only such a creative and talented woman, but she also has made such a legacy for herself. “If you don’t like the road you’re walking, start paving another one” is a statement from her that hits home and really shapes the idea of finding your path. If you listen to any of her interviews she is so authentic and really shows her true character at all times. I love seeing women who are not afraid to be honest and who stand out.
