We had the good fortune of connecting with Tammy Quisenberry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tammy, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I retired from a career in physical therapy and knew that I wanted to continue to work in a service related industry. I was talking to a realtor in Granbury and she mentioned a need that short term rental owners had. The ones that lived out of town needed eyes on their property. Areas like maintenance, lawn and pool, cleaning and inventory were all being handled long distance and the owners needed feet on the ground to make sure these things were being done. Hence “Extra Comforts” was born.

What should our readers know about your business?
Extra Comforts is the only personal concierge service serving the Granbury community. The clients that I serve include locals with needs like party planning, home organization assistance, grocery delivery and stocking and other errand services. Extra Comforts serves short term rental owners with policing their properties which includes supervising maintenance visits, lawn and cleaning services and pool and hot tub checking and staging for photo shoots. The third and most creative area is serving the guests that come to stay in the vacation homes. Often they are coming to celebrate an anniversary, girl’s weekend, special holiday or attending one of the many festivals in Granbury. Extra Comforts will deliver a welcome gift, charcuterie board, flowers or even decorate for a special occasion. The moto for Extra Comforts: You do LIFE… We do DETAILS…

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The square is a great place to get the true feeling of Granbury. We have history, wineries, art, theatre, wonderful cuisine and a beautiful courthouse in the middle of it all. Granbury was awarded “The Best Historic Small Town in America” three years in a row. Wonderful history on every corner and you can even take a free trolley ride that explains the historic buildings and victorian homes you will see along the way. I believe if you live in Granbury and are bored- you want to be bored! There is something going on every weekend in town not to mention the lake. There is truly not enough time to get it all in!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are several that need a shout out regarding the success of Extra Comforts. The realtor, Kacey Huggins, that gave me the idea to solve a problem for short term rental owners definitely deserves recognition. Also organizations like Visit Granbury that support tourism in this town as well as the Granbury Association of Realtors, The Granbury Chamber of Commerce supports small local businesses with seminars that have certainly helped to build my business.
