We had the good fortune of connecting with Tami Miocic and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tami, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I have always wanted to make a difference in people’s lives. I am a helper. My heart posture behind opening Local Eats Concierge was to help local business owners grow their catering sales during a very trying time , a global pandemic.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When Covid struck I was presently working for a local restaurant as a Catering Director. The owners and I spent many years building an incredible corporate catering business As the world we knew shut down ,

I spent some time being laid off because there was absolutely no catering yet alone business. The world was on lockdown.

I prayed about it and decided that I could not just throw away all of the hard work I had spent literally knocking on doors and building a clientele. I was heartbroken to see so many restaurants were struggling. Just to keep the doors open.

I knew people were coming back slowly into the workforce.

I thought to myself “How can I help ?”

That’s when the idea of Local Eats Concierge came to reality.

I am a catering coordinator and take care of all the planning for my clients events at NO cost to them.

The restaurant is also very happy because they do not have to keep a Catering Director or Marketing person on staff as I am working strictly on commission for them. We all see it as a WIN WIN as I am bringing them sales they did not have.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I absolutely love the DFW area. There is something super special about the people that live here. One of my favorite spots is Downtown Grapevine .

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My parents encouraged me at a young age to work hard. They also taught me to treat people with kindness and help others whenever I could. . I developed a very strong work ethic through the years and have made many friends along the way.
