We had the good fortune of connecting with TaKevalyn Butler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi TaKevalyn, have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
For some reason my heart chose this question without hesitation. As a dope, divine spiritual being having a beautiful human experience… it’s crucial to innerstand that giving up isn’t an option! When we give up that’s when we’ve actually experienced failure. Simply because we didn’t believe in ourselves fully and expected things to be handed to us with minimal if any effort. Nobody wants to fail or be viewed as a failure. When you’re passionate about something, you’ll always be fueled and motivated to keep going, it’s normal to have moments of discouragement. Instead of letting that consume you, allow those “tough” times to strengthen you. I learned the hard way that passion actually means what are you willing to endure, suffer through no matter what. So when you make a decision to do something that will benefit you, ask yourself first … “is this really something I’m sure I want to endure, suffer through, experience a lot of growing pains?” If so, then you’ll know that regardless of any circumstances, you won’t ever give up!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Tasty, Unique, Heartfelt, Kef, Energy, Dedication, Incomparable, Efficacious, Soothing = TUHKEDIES ! the name of my business that I created initially as a side hustle to pay for college after losing my scholarship in December of 2013 and officially made it legit December of 2019! I genuinely needed a space of peace to release a lot of pain I was growing through and having to deal with life and it’s struggles. What sets me apart is my language! My energy, my vibes that I bring to each and every soul I meet! The gourmet love that I create is an experience like no other! I’m most excited about spreading love and adding value to others through food and desserts! I got to where I am currently by perseverance, resiliency, determination, dedicated and a lot of sacrifices! Most importantly having faith in the creator and trusting my sky parents to deliver! Definitely wasn’t unicorns and rainbows, let alone a walk in the park and it still isn’t! The biggest lesson I’ve learned to overcome challenges is to have my faith ROOTED and unshaken, and not to take anything personal. There’s going to be a lot of things you don’t know and that’s okay. A wise man knows that he knows nothing! Life is a school, it’s okay to be tutored sometimes instead of wanting to do all the teaching! Ask for help! What I’d like the world to know about me is that I’m unapologetically authentic, rare, dope, and a loving light! What I’d like the world to know about my brand is that if you ever need love, especially gourmet love on your taste buds, allow me to create that experience for you!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m wholeheartedly a home body for the most part however if it was a week long trip we’d spend majority of our time in nature and eating! We’d experience all new restaurants from all cultures! I’d take them to the nature reserves, medieval times, six flags, downtown to the SkyLine, the aquarium and museums that Texas has to offer and a lot of sight seeing! I’m still fairly new to the city so we’d have adventures making memories together!

Oh and can’t forget about a drive in theater!!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost I’d like to give a shout-out to GOD! My creator and ancestors for choosing me to shake things up in the most positive way possible. I’d like to shoutout my tribe and my attorney for always encouraging me and holding me accountable to push through!
