We had the good fortune of connecting with T The Phenomenal and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi T, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
I think the key is to not even have that mindset in your head. I’m not doing music with the mindset or thought of giving up, but of succeeding and prospering. So don’t ever give up when it gets rough— and it will get rough— just keep going full sail ahead

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My art can definitely vary. I feel like my base is hip-hop, but if I wanted to do pop, pop punk, indie or rap that I could do that because my lyrics always match the sound I’m going for. I would say my art separates me from others by having true emotions and stories behind each lyrics I write. I started writing lyrics when I was 11, and I was terrible. Over time however, the production of my songs grew to become such great quality. When I felt I was ready, I went to the studio and recorded my first single “Mark My Words”. About 10 months later I ended up on 106.1 KISS FM radio as the opener for jingle ball festival! I’m most proud of performing my own songs and ending up on the radio a week before I turned 18. That’s what drove me to keep going and to push for more. I don’t think it’s ever easy in this career…. You’ll always hit a wall or road bumps, but it’s up to you to tear them down or go over them. DON’T GIVE UP! I want the world to know that I’m just being myself and releasing music that not only I can relate to, but other people can as well!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Whenever I’m not busy, I would take my friend to this great wing spot I love called WingBucket. It’s all I ever talk about to my friends. I just love that place! I would hook my friend up with the 3pc tender combo with volcano as the sauce.. YUMMMMM. Best thing in the world! Another place to check out would be Deep Ellum or downtown McKinney. The people know how to have fun and make the town stand out in their own way.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout some great upcoming bands and artists such as: Clover Grove, Isonant, ROY, Jackson Keeting, and Leila Dandan. These people are amazing and I can’t wait for the chance to collab with them all!

I would also like to thank my beautiful fans and family who truly believe in the progress in from my very first single release. Thank you to Andre Duncan who taught me a bit more about the business side of music

Love you mom!
