We had the good fortune of connecting with T La’Toyia Warren and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi T La’Toyia, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
Two of my favorite quotes…”You don’t have to be great to get started but you do have to get started to be great.” Les Brown & “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” Henry Ford How do I know whether to keep going or to give up? The breath in my lungs is the green indicator light I use to keep going. My philosophy is simple. Life is a gift and everyday we are given an opportunity to either rise to the occsaison of our circumstances or crack under pressure. Whichever we choose it is ultimately our choice. I choose to keep going because I appreciate the gift of life. There will be moments where I must pivot and reaccess, friends will be lost and family may not understand but giving up is not an option.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Never taking an opportunity for granted is what truly sets me apart from others. It does not matter if I am playing a small role in the production of a project, merely participating to acomplish the creator’s goals, or acting as one of the leaders I DO NOT take the moment for granted. There is always something to be learned from all experiences and that lesson can from anywhere and can be delivered from even the smallest child. The key is to be ready with an open heart and ears in order to receive what the moment is suppose to deliver. Operating in integrity and tolerance has not been easy but I know I would not be as far as I am today without maintaing integrity and my high level of tolerance for all. My ability to work with many from different walks of life has always been my gem and those around me can feel the genuinueness of my personality to serve and deliver. My motivational Brand, BeautiFly & Free projects the perfect image of the person I want the world to see. One that is fighting to remain authentic to my true self all the while raising my family. Consistently, encouraging self improvement and hope in the struggles of life. I want to also demostrate we can accomplish our goals no matter the stage we are in our life. While on the other hand, I am co-owner with my husband for our photography company, Warren Photography. The launching of this company is a long time dream acheived rooted in wanting to capture the precious moments of our clients in a professional and excellent enviornment. The lessons I have learned along the way is that not everyone in your life will remain in your life and you have to be willing to walk away sometimes. My past was never an indicator of how far I can go. My past was only the starting point to where I could leap from. Lastly, I can never forget that God ultimately has all in control and as long as I stay the course I will always be where I need to be in the moment I need to be in. I will always bloom where I am planted.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Dallas does not fail to deliver when it comes to lively entertainment daily and culinarnary masterpieces for every meal. I have lived in Texas since 1994 and I have had the opportunity to witness the evolution of a city that is both culturally diverse in terms of food, art, etc. As well as relevant to the growing number of miliennials that reside in the city. Because of their influence, I beleive that is one of the reasons for the wide rannge of activities and resturants we enjoy today. My favorite eateries and activities consist of: Pappadeaux…specializing in Fine Dining Cajun Seafood. Two of my favorite words together is Cajun and Seafood! Not to mention beautiful speciality cocktails and appetizers. Pappasitos…specializing in Fine Dining Tex-Mex. Absolutley delicious margaritas and a delectble brunch we could visit during the day. Cloud Nine Resturant at the top of Reunion Tower is casual dining with an amazing 360 degree view of the Dallas skyline from a 560-foot view. There is also Clyde Warren Park downtown for lounging, exercising, and even impromptu photoshoots. The trip is not complete without a downtown pub crawl on the Dallas Party Bike! Explore the pubs of Deep Ellum and West End and see some amazing murals along the way while enjoying craft beverages from the local pubs.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost, my relationship with God is the source of my success. Being rooted and grounded in my Creator allows me to navigate the storms and calms of life with no worries regarding the future. My husband, Raymond Warren, has been a consistent force in my life for 12 years now, never leaving my side while we raise our two beautiful daughters, Kiara and Jasmine. My family means everything to me and without their love and support I would not have the capacity to move forward as an influencial model, dancer, and writer. Professionally, I have worked with several different organizations since I began in the fashion and entertainment industry in 2017. Ican attribute my sucess to the vast experiences I have allowed myself to have. Each and every experience taught me to value the moment and all it entails. I am especially appreciative to Lamonte Hawley ( published author, director, and owner at “Authors Issue”) who took a chance and gave me a part in his movie, Final Approach: The Movie, for my acting debut in Dallas. Currently, I am a model with the consulting agency, “My Big Is Beautiful”, where they are helping to build more opportunities for our plus size community and helping to build confidence and self esteem. As well as a professional dancer with ,Curvy Queenz of Dallas, INC where they have the motto, “Dance Has No Size”.
