We had the good fortune of connecting with Storm Senoj and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Storm, how do you think about risk?
The biggest risk is not taking any risk. You’ll never live your dream if you’re not willing to take any risks. Stepping out on faith and relocating to a new state has been one of the best risks I’ve taken this far. I have met so many different people and have been presented many opportunities that has contributed to my upcoming success. Playing it safe wouldn’t have placed me where I am today.

Please tell us more about your work. We’d love to hear what sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about. How did you get to where you are today professionally. Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way. What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
I specialize in soft glams. I love to just enhance the beauty, not causing my clients to look like a totally different person. I’m always receiving compliments on how “soft and clean” my makeup looks are. It’s so exciting to see the expressions on my client’s face once they take a look at the end result. I believe that is what sets me apart from others. Getting where I am today was definitely not easy. Being an entrepreneur period, is not easy and it’s definitely not for the weak. I still have my struggles til this day. Sometimes you will have super busy days and sometimes you’ll have days that are super slow. Keeping a positive mindset, remaining focused, and putting the work in are essential for this industry. I’ve learned so many lessons along the way but the biggest lesson I’ve learned is to never compare yourself or your success to others. It’s the biggest thief of joy. We all have our own paths to our destination and as long as you never give up, you’ll make it there.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
When I first came to Dallas, I was introduced to the restaurant Dj’s Steakhouse. It’s my favorite place to go with friends and family for food. The vibe, food, and scenery is unmatched. One of my favorite hangout spots would definitely be ESO Mimosa Bar. It’s always a vibe no matter the day!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give a special shout out to my older cousin, whom is also a makeup artist, Sheteisha. Without her support, encouragement, and mentorship, I would have never believed in myself enough to pursue my calling. She plays a major role in the confidence I have within myself and my work.
