We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephon Latham and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephon, what do you attribute your success to?
Relationships! Throughout the course of my career, I was able to build rapport with people and nurture many professional relationships across many industries. Those relationships afforded me so many opportunities during the journey. I’m in the people’s business and people like authenticity. Being respectful and sharing good energy with people will take you a long way.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe we all have a unique gift and it’s meant to serve others. I’m a storyteller. My focus isn’t to be set apart from others, but to maximize on the each moment when I’m creating with a client. Be very present during the session. Energy is my super power. It’s about the experience with everyone involved. No egos. We all serving a role in that moment of creation. I’ve learned that flexible will help you to overcome challenges along the way. Also, failures and obstacles are just as part of the journey as success. So, trust and embrace the process. Don’t focus on the rewards. They will come. My brand story becomes our brand story when I work with clients. It’s an inclusive experience.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Had you asked me this pre-pandemic, I could write a whole travel blog about it. I love old fashioned and whiskey sours drinks so I would say Armoury in Deep Ellum, Haywire at Legacy West, and the Parliament in Uptown. For food, Pangea Restaurant and bar (black owned and also has good drinks), The Freeman Cajun Cafe, and Haywire.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give credit to my tribe! I’ve been blessed with so many incredible people who have stumbled across my path. My tribe consist of family and dear friends who I owe the world to because they never let me give up. Whether it was words of encouragement, prayers, sending YouTube motivational videos, or sharing time with me as I create, they help mold me to become who I am. I also have to give a shoutout to my clients. I’m always honored to be able to capture their moment with photography. I’m a believer so God gets the biggest shoutout. I believe he placed those people in my life for a purpose.
