We had the good fortune of connecting with Stephanie Shireman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stephanie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting my own business has always been a dream of mine. But what led me to study at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition was the desire to find more ways to help heal my body from my digestive struggles. I quickly realized that food is only part of the healing process. My past emotional pain, body image views and anxiety needed to be cared for as well. Becoming a Health Coach has given me the opportunity to serve women in their journey of life. I get to listen, give encouragement and give guidance in areas where they struggling. This aligns so perfectly with the call that I feel God has placed on my life for encouraging other women. Not only did I learn about nutrition, but also how many things like career, relationships, spirituality, and other things can play a role in our health and lifestyle.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My drive for helping others is what sets me apart. I am most excited about building a business that supports other women be who God has called them to be. I am learning that fear is just a feeling, that when I push through it great things are on the another side.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love heading up to Legacy Hall in Plano. Day time it is family friendly with the outdoor area and events or a great girls night out spot. There is something for everyone food and drink wise. I love sharing brisket nachos and grabbing a waffle for dessert.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would not be where I am today without my relationship with the Lord. I need him daily. I am so thankful for my family, especially my Mom and Grandma. They support me by praying, listening and encouraging me to do what I feel God has called me to do. My friends are also my sounding board. These women are Jesus to me and have shown their love and support through life’s challenges.
