We had the good fortune of connecting with Stefanie Moschitta and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stefanie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always been very artistic and creative person for as long as I can remember. I knew I wouldn’t be happy in a corporate job or even one working for someone else like I had in the past. After I had my son in 2016 I decided I wanted to do something that helped my creative side as well as let me still be a full time mom home with him. With that I decided to start Shane’s Cookie Corner.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am so incredibly proud of myself for what I have accomplished so far and that in itself is a huge thing for me to say. In the past there have been many things that put me down and didn’t give me any confidence in myself. All that changed once I had my miracle little boy. He made me change how I see the world and how I looked at myself, giving me the confidence to put myself out there and start my businesses. Being a single mom gave me all the more drive to build something great to show him what determination and hard work can do! That’s what I want to teach him, that even if you think things are going wrong with a little help and a lot of good attitude and drive you can build something amazing!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I absolutely love supporting local businesses and trying new things! I would definitely want to take them to some iconic spots around city like the Stockyards or the water gardens or Sundance Square. We would definitely have to go get some BBQ because you cannot come to Texas and not get some BBQ. I’d also love to take them out to maybe the Truckyard or some fun outdoor hangout ! Anything outdoors hanging and meeting new people.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I wouldn’t have been able to start one let alone three business without my family especially my parents! Being a single mom is hard enough at times but then running multiple business as well would be near impossible without some help. I couldn’t have done without them. They picked up their whole life in NY and moved here to TX when I had my son to help me and I am forever grateful for them. I couldn’t have done any of this without them here helping me with My son at times so I can focus on my businesses.
