We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacie McCans and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacie, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?

Kindness matters most to me. We currently live in such a tumultuous world and (though I’m certainly not perfect) I try to treat others as I would want to be treated. I run an interior design company and even though it is a LOT of work it should also be fun. Who gets to do this?! What a dream job. I want not only our clients but also our vendors, the subs, our workrooms, etc. to be treated with the utmost kindness and respect. I take great pride in the team we have built at Paxton Place Design. It revolves around integrity, creativity, kindness (and fun)!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Paxton Place Design is an award winning interior design firm that focuses on residential and commercial design. I think what sets us apart from other designers is that we do not have a ‘rubber stamp’ style. We excel at traditional, transitional, and contemporary genres. PPD takes pride in knowing we are going to do everything in our power to protect our clients by not only giving them a beautiful individualized space, but a useable one as well. We want to create a sanctuary (for residential and commercial) clients, so people have a place of peace and restoration to go home to (or work in) that fits their personal style, lifestyle and needs.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Some places that are old favorites of mine are The Maverick in the Stock Yards in Fort Worth. Just around the corner is Joe T’s which has an amazing outdoor patio and fabulous Mexican food. If you like something ’lite’ try Local Foods for lunch…we frequent there about once a week.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I want to dedicate my ‘shoutout’ to my husband. If it weren’t for his support, love, and vast knowledge of how to run a business there would not be a Paxton Place Design. He is President of the McCans Sonic Group.
