We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth Keeton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Beth, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I worked in advertising and marketing agencies for ten years before going in-house with a non-profit and each of those experiences taught me a lot about the pace at which I enjoy working, which companies I naturally gravitated toward, and how I wanted to show up as a leader. I’ve always enjoyed the more fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment that agencies offer, but I felt most personally connected to my work when I was working for one company in-house. When thinking about starting Elephant House PR I knew I wanted to create a public relations agency that felt like a bridge of these two experiences – an environment where we would have opportunities to work on different projects and with different companies, but as an extension of their internal team.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

Elephant House PR is a full-service public relations agency that supports good-for-you brands including fresh produce, healthy food/beverage, and clean beauty/skin care. We pride ourselves on being innovative and creative storytellers and creating authentic relationships with influencers and the media to get results. We know that PR can often leave a bad taste in people’s mouths because many business owners have been burned by agencies who promised the moon and stars, spent a ton of money, and didn’t have much to show for it. Understanding our clients’ hesitations helps us communicate and show up differently to re-engage brands in a healthy PR program that delivers on results and stewards budgets well.

Our clients would say that there are a couple major areas where we are set apart from other PR agencies. The first is that we understand the entire marketing umbrella as a whole, which makes us a great PR partner. We don’t work in a silo, but rather with the internal and external marketing teams to help leverage as much as we can to make our clients’ budgets go further and create a more seamless marketing and communications strategy. The second area we excel in is working with clients like we are an extension of their internal team and not merely an “outside agency.” Where others keep their expertise and strategy close to the vest, we lean into collaboration and training so that each team we work with better understands the work we do and vice versa.

When people think of Elephant House PR, I want them to know that we are servant leaders, first and foremost. Even more so than our ability to produce great work and earn major media placements, we prioritize authentic relationships and second-mile service because we know it’s what matters in business. In a world that prioritizes quick transactional relationships, we want brands to know that working with us feels different because we are different.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a quintessential Fort Worth experience, The Stockyards are unbeatable. I would bring my bestie shopping for some authentic Texas cowgirl boots and a hat from Flea Style. Then we’d check out the cattle walk and end with a concert at Billy Bob’s.

For a more upscale Dallas experience, I’d start with a walk on the Katy Trail, brunch in Uptown, and either a Rangers/Cowboys game or a funky restaurant in Deep Elum.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
So much of who I am today is because of the people who have poured into me. My parents both encouraged me from a young age to be resilient and willing to try new things, to which I’m incredibly grateful. My husband Jonathan is my biggest cheerleader and advocate, and is a constant reminder of God’s faithfulness. I also have mentors who speak life and encouragement over me while also pushing me to be better. Dave Anderson, Dan’l Mackey Almy, Amy Russey and Sandy Lamb – thank you for your wisdom and outpouring of love and support.
