We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey Roberts and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Stacey, what is the most important factor behind your success?
It would have to be a combination of the willingness to put in the hard work and also revolving my business around something I love and am truly passionate about. Success didn’t come quickly (and rarely does) so hard work was required without promise of success or a known timeline for when it would pay off. Loving what I do and knowing that I can help people enhance their lives is a reward in itself. What I was sharing I was also living. When it comes from a place of passion and authenticity it’s possible to avoid burnout and continue to work hard no matter how long it takes.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I create workouts and fitness programs people can do from home with limited equipment. Regular fitness is a huge part of my physical and mental health and I wanted to be a part of helping others feel and function their best. I saw a lot of toxicity in the fitness industry and a large focus on aesthetics and bodies rather than the wide range of benefits. Things like getting stronger, feeling better, improving sleep quality, increasing energy, and improving mental health. I help people of all ages and fitness levels find ways to workout from home with what they have and focus on small steps in the right direction. I avoid extremes and quick fixes and guide people to build habits slowly in a way that is sustainable for life.

For years I moved furniture in my living room to have a space to film workouts. I put in full time hours to provide free workouts without earning any money. With social media comes some challenges, like strangers insulting my body or saying rude things. There has been difficulty every step of the way but the good has outweighed the bad. When I hear how my workouts or programs have changed someone’s life for the better it all feels worth it. I receive messages from people who have been able to eliminate pain, function better, improve strength, reach weight loss goals, sleep better, improve mental health, increase energy and so much more – it truly brings me joy and makes the hard work more than worth it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My best friends know I am a true introvert. It is surprising to some since I live so publicly. When my friends and I go on vacations we often rent an airbnb and spend a lot of time just enjoying each others presence. Good conversation, fun games in the swimming pool, and dancing or karaoke at the house. They are fitness enthusiasts like me so it’s fun to find cool places to workout, like a calisthenics gym we found on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I love good food and love introducing my friends to restaurants they have never tried. The restaurant I recommend most and am anxious to get back to myself is Chimney Park in Windsor, CO. My favorite food is Sea Bass. My favorite drink is coffee and a relaxing morning with good company, good conversation, and good coffee is one of my favorite things ever. I do love being active so when visiting places like Utah or Colorado hikes are high on the to-do list, and when people visit me here in Texas I love swimming activities and water parks.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The support and encouragement of my husband, Joel, and our kids have been a huge factor of my success. They have believed in me every step of the way and supported every crazy idea, purchase, and business strategy. Joel helps keep me grounded when social media starts to threaten my mental health. They all help with filming, ideas, music, etc. And speaking of social media, I also have an amazing group of women to thank – too many to name. The community I have on Instagram has helped me continue to learn, grow, and challenge myself in new ways. The friendships I have made in the fitness community offer support, encouragement, and have helped to make me a better fitness instructor and person.
