We had the good fortune of connecting with Stacey Allen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Stacey, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I have always had a love for coffee, and more specifically craft coffee. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry all my life and I decided to combine my love for servitude and my love coffee and create a mobile coffee shop!
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am working hard to not only provide a service, but to create a movement. Currently, I do pop-ups and events with my mobile coffee and mocktail bar. However, the vision I have for Rose 32 is BIG! I want to create a movement where people learn to “live well & drink well”. So often you go to a party or gathering and the beverage options are limited to high-sugar mixers, alcohol, or drinks that even contain toxins. Rose 32 strives to offer clean ingredients, organic syrups, herbs, and non-dairy milks. I am passionate about offering something unique in the craft beverage space while still allowing people to be social and have a great time! The challenge is that this is a new approach that not many coffee brands are doing so I’ve faced challenges of acceptance since this is a concept outside of the norm. Ways I’ve learned to combat the opposition is to talk about my “why”. My “why” is simply because I care about the health and well-being of others and I want people to have healthy beverage options during social events.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’ve lived in Fort Worth for the last 10 years and I feel there is still so much in this city to still discover! Of course, if my best friend came in town we would be going to ALL of the coffee shops in the mornings first and foremost.
My favorite coffee shop is Sons Coffee downtown Fort Worth (who is my roaster and where I source my specialty coffee beans from). I also really enjoy Edison Coffee in Flower Mound and White Rock Coffee in Dallas.
For lunch locations, a couple of my favorites are Righteous Foods off of 7th St. in Fort Worth, serving clean eats, juices, and good coffee of course, and Spiral Diner, a vegan restaurant in Fort Worth. I love The Truck Yard in Alliance Town Center where each day there are different local food trucks there.
For dinner, I would have to say one of my absolute favorite restaurants is Hush in Keller, a sushi restaurant. Mia Dia is equally good, a mexican scratch kitchen in Grapevine. I also really enjoy Ferah in Southlake, a tex-med kitchen.
As far as fun things to do in the DFW area, there are so many! For outside enjoyment I would say taking walks along the Trinity River in Fort Worth and visiting the beautiful Botanic Gardens in Fort Worth. The Stockyards in Fort Worth is a huge staple of the DFW area as there are so many fun restaurants, bars, and events happening there. There is even a new music hall, Tannahill’s Tavern and Music Hall in The Stockyards. Occasionally, I enjoy drinking wine and there any several local wine bars I would want to visit and hang out at. The Magnolia Wine Bar is my top pick, offering a unique wine list and live music. My friend La Bell performs live music on Friday nights at The Magnolia Wine Bar. I also love Two Brother’s Winery, they have a delicious Bourbon Barrel Aged Cabernet and they often host events and live music.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My business is named after my grandmother. Her name was Evelyn Rose and she was born in 1932, ‘Rose 32’. I decided to honor my grandma with my business name because she made an impact in my life by showing myself and others what unconditional love is. Her character consisted of love, kindness, and a desire to serve and take care of others before herself. I strive to carry those characteristics into my business. My mission is to not only offer an amazing product, but to also create a culture of love, kindness, and respect for others.
My husband Lawrence also deserves recognition as he supports me with my dreams and goals and he does whatever he can to assist in growing my business.
