We had the good fortune of connecting with Sparta Komissarova and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sparta, how do you think about risk?
When I decided to start my own business in 2009, I’d been working in corporate America but was facing the end of my marriage with full responsibility of my two sons. I’d grown up with entrepreneur parents so it wasn’t totally new to me. With that being said, I took the leap and decided to take my clients and start Internet Guru Girl LLC.

The only way I knew I could work full time and be a full time mom to my sons and involved in every aspect of their lives without missing anything. The risk was worth whatever it took to be their mom first.

What should our readers know about your business?
After working in the legal vertical for 10yrs handling law firms websites and online marketing, I took my knowledge and expertise and went on my own. What set me apart and still does til this day is “BIG COMPANY EXPERIENCE. SMALL COMPANY PERSONALIZED DETAIL.”

It was never easy but it was worth it. I believe in the American dream. I believe in the ability to be a full time mom, while owning your own company. I believe in being strong and setting the best example for my sons. I also encourage them to consider starting their own business as well.

I want other people to know they can do it. If you want it and you have deep love for your family to provide for them, you will move mountains.

That same passion flows into the personal attention I give my clients. Going above and beyond.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If someone was visiting me where I live they may not want to leave my farm. I live on 13 acres east of Dallas. We have cows, donkeys and dogs. Almost all of my friends want to experience the farm life. They usually want to experience a huge bonfire in the winter or ride around on the tractor and feed and pet the animals.

If we venture into the city, we have some of the best TexMex in Texas. Most don’t want to leave the farm.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
When I decided to launch on my own, I had a few women who had done it before me and helped me get started. without the constant support during a horrible divorce and the beginning of my new career, I couldn’t have done it without my counterpart Cindy Silver and Lyn Blair who also does what I do but lives in NY. To this day we are dear friends and we have worked together for 16yrs.
