We had the good fortune of connecting with Sophia Stewart Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sophia, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I was originally born in Toledo, Ohio. At age 2 my family moved to Anchorage, Alaska and I lived there until I turned 18. Being the oldest girl of six siblings living in the household I gained the responsibility to help cook. Within that time frame, I found my love for cooking. Growing up positive feedback and constructive criticism from family/friends help build my confidence within my craft. This made me want to push forward. My upbringing impacts who I am today in so many different ways. From learning the value of consistency, making responsible choices, and staying focus on what you want.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
So So Good Cooking LLC offers so many different things! Flavorful seasonings, mouth-watering recipes, catering, private chef, cooking demonstrations & cooking classes. What I’m most proud of is my seasoning blend collection. To see it all come to life and hear positive feedback makes the journey well worth it.

It was not an easy road getting to where I am today but I’m thankful for the lessons learned. What I’ve learned most on my journey of entrepreneurship is to not rush the process. Never lower your standard to gain a customer. Be 100% confident in your craft.

Although I may not be traditionally trained my mission to the world is to rekindle people’s passion for cooking with creative recipes, fun styles, flavorful seasonings, and artistic meal presentations!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shout out to my mother-in-law Hilda Matthews. She has been a major help in the process of building So So Good Cooking LLC. From her creativeness in product branding to helping with ad campaigns. I am very grateful to have someone like her by my side during this journey of growth.

I would also love to give a shoutout to Kayla McDowell founder of Dallas Black Bloggers. The platform she has built is amazing! I’ve met so many powerful women over the last year. My very first networking catering event was DBB 2020 Exposure. My very first LIVE cooking demonstration was on DBB Instagram page. She has supported me from the beginning continuing to support/uplift me now. Much love to the DBB community and I’m excited to see the growth years from now.
