We had the good fortune of connecting with Shon and LaTress Peoples and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shon and LaTress, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I saw apparel with wording that lacked meaning. I decided to create a brand, that produces apparel with wording that brings life, that uplifts and that encourages the wearer. And I wanted to produce apparel that could ignite a conversation.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
True Believers is a Christian apparel brand and screen printing company. We create apparel to spread the Word of God without compromising style or quality. One of the things that sets us apart is that we create and produce our own designs in-house. While we produce our own apparel, we also believe in assisting other brands by making our print services available. If we can help other brands and organizations by providing information and/or print services, we are willing to do so. The lessons we’ve learned aren’t just for our benefit.

We’ve learned a lot through trial and error and taking calculated risks. One of the lessons we’ve learned is that learning continues. There is always updated information, new apparel, new fabrics, new equipment, updated printing techniques, etc.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d spend time in different areas of the city. We’d spend time at The Frisco Star to be in the amazing atmosphere created by Dallas Cowboys’ owner Jerry Jones. Playing games on the field and having lunch or dinner at one of the many restaurants. Then one day spend time shopping and dining in the energetic Legacy West. Another day we would hang out at Grandscape in The Colony. Play indoor putt putt at Puttery, go to a movie at the theater, browse at the enormous sporting store, Scheels and top the evening off at Andretti’s with some indoor race car driving. Grandscape may take two days, lol. The visit wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Dallas’ Klyde Warren Park and a tour of Cowboys’ Stadium in Arlington.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
