We had the good fortune of connecting with Shohista Turan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shohista, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Scared! Unsure! Will I be able to continue!

As everyone else had, I had my own thoughts, fears, and is it questions. 🙂

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am Jewellery Influencer and self-made. You must love what you do, and be passionate about what you do. It is a challenging business, as it is a painstakingly slow process and you get to learn everything in the process. What sets me apart from others, I don’t get to share other people’s work and create unique content for each post I share with my audiences, and with no gemology degree in the field, I had to teach myself everything in the jewellery field from scratch.

Resilience, persistence, passion for your work and patience gets you where you want to be and you can overcome the challenges. You are your own judge and you have to believe in your instincts.

In today’s world, we see a lot of people who get to buy more followers and grow super quickly and claimed that are the true influencer. We are unique in creating unique content, and keeping on top of the changes and trends and I’d want the world to know we are not everybody but we work with everybody….

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I think, in my opinion no better place than London. It is such a cosmopolitan, multi-cultural and you get to find every new thing in London. Especially, Mayfair, Kensington, Nottigham and Chelsia are the super trendy street for fashion, art and street food that I’d like to spend the time with.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Alright. I must acknowledge the help of people around me and with whom I have been working and the clients who have trusted in my abilities to deliver and everyone’s trust in me. It’s not easy to run your own business alone. I thank the people who work with me remotely and internationally with the same aim are the people who make me help grow and be recognised. I am truly honoured to be working with, are Reema Farooqui, and Jinal Prajapati.
