Meet Shira Litvin | Handmade Soap maker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shira Litvin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shira, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Starting a small business is a commitment and dedication, and I wanted to show myself and others that if you are pationate enough about something, believe in your product and doing it from your heart, it is possible even if you are a full time job working mom. some dreams are meant to come true.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a mother of 3 sweet boys, and i have a full time job as a Software Engineer.
I discovered the art of handmade soap back in Jan 2018 when I had the flu, and was looking for some DIY projects to keep my mind busy.
I found some lotion bar recipes and ordered supplies to make them as soon as I got better, and I fell in love with the process of creating something new from scratch that can be used by myself and my family members. From there the way to soapmaking was very quick, and then came the shampoo and conditioner bars as well.
I formulate my own recipes, and my products are all 100% handmade, using high quality ingredients only. I use sustainable packaging only and try to be as friendly as possible to our planet as well.
It will be great if people will replace bath products that comes in plastic to solid products, my products are natural and are much better for the skin, hair and scalp
The experience of getting my packages. It’s very exciting to open my packages as I wrap them in a lovely way, I know I would be very happy to get a package like that
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
legacy west – Tommy Bahama / Starbucks the truck yard
downtown plano

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
first of all I would like to thank myself. I am proud of myself for believing in me and going with my dream. my husband – for the support to do what makes me feel good and happy, for all the good advice on how to run my business and for giving me some free time to work on my dream.
my family – mom, dad, siblings and boys who love my products, let me test everything on them and encourage me to keep on going and growing.
