We had the good fortune of connecting with Sheila Clark and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sheila, why did you pursue a creative career?
Sheila is a musical artist that has recorded her first album, “Uncertain Texas” in Nashville, TN. and her second album, “Would You”, in Texas. She is currently singing and performing with, “Sheila And The Caddo Kats”. They are a classic acoustic rockabilly band with a nostalgic flavor, that takes their audiences back to a simpler time when music relayed the good feelings of being alive. On any given night, audiences can be seen swaying and singing along to the sounds of their favorite songs performed without the help of electric instruments. The origin of Sheila’s music career, started in the Caddo Lake area of East Texas, where she, as a singer/songwriter grew up. She developed a love for music through the teachings of her father, a Music Director, and her Grandfather, who was part of a Gospel Quartet. She is now sharing her original compositions with the world as you can find her material on most all download sites, such as Amazon, iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify and of course her own web site at: www.SheilaAndTheCaddoKats.com

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Sheila is not only a singer/songwriter, she is a mother, grandmother, and a loving wife. She set aside being a performer so that she could be a part of her families lives. To nurture there growth and support them as she cared deeply for her family values. Later in life she convinced herself that it was time for her to pursue her dreams of becoming a recording artist. Kenny Lee, a Nashville producer, happened to hear her voice and approached her wanting to record her in his studio. Her first album, “Uncertain Texas”, was recorded. Since then Sheila has earned many nominations and awards because of her outstanding natural voice. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I don’t hang out much in the Metro/Plex area, but I would definitely show them a good time in my neck of the woods. From the mystical Caddo Lake, the only natural (not man made) lake in Texas, with its Cypress Trees and Spanish Moss, to the Night spots that my band loves to perform, such as Los PInos Ranch and Vineyard of Pittsburgh, TX. The world famous REO Palm Isle of Longview, TX. established in 1935 where all of the great country music artists (including Elvis) has performed, And the outstanding Back Porch Restaurant in Kilgore, TX. where we could meet Jackie, and Vickie, the awesome owners. I would also take them by, “Everything That Blings” in Kilgore, TX, to introduce them to Jacqueline who is my clothing endorser. We could also go to the famous “Texas Tea Room” a museum/restaurant in Carthage, TX along with stopping by the “Texas Country Music Hall of Fame” home of Tex Ritter, and Gentleman Jim Reeves.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would first of all like to thank God, for without his gift of my talent, I would not be here talking about my career. My family, friends, and fans, for without them I would not have the courage, and the stamina, to love what I do, and do what I love.
