We had the good fortune of connecting with She Go Hard Tequilla and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi She Go Hard, can you tell us more about your background and the role it’s played in shaping who you are today?

Growing up in the small town of Clinton, Louisiana, just a stone’s throw from Baton Rouge, I was immersed in the rich tapestry of Southern culture from an early age. My childhood was steeped in the sounds of blues music, a passion that my parents instilled in me. The soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics became the soundtrack of my life, shaping my identity and igniting my love for music.

My journey into the world of music truly began when I joined the school band under the guidance of Lawrence Jackson. It was here that I discovered the power of expression through sound. Initially, I picked up the trumpet, playing in both the marching band and the orchestra. The thrill of performing in front of an audience was exhilarating, and it was during these formative years that I began to understand the profound impact music can have on both the artist and the listener.

As I honed my skills, I ventured into the realm of hip-hop, where I found my voice as an entertainer. For over 20 years, I immersed myself in this vibrant genre, exploring the art of rapping and freestyle. The stage became my second home, and I relished the opportunity to connect with audiences through my lyrics and rhythm. Each performance was a chance to share my story, my struggles, and my triumphs, and I embraced the role of storyteller with open arms.

However, as time passed, I felt a pull back to my roots. The Southern soul music that had surrounded me in my youth began to resonate deeply within me once again. This genre, with its rich history and emotional depth, felt like a natural evolution of my musical journey. Today, as an emerging Southern soul artist, I am excited to blend my hip-hop influences with the soulful sounds of my upbringing. This fusion not only honors my past but also allows me to create something uniquely my own.

My experiences have taught me that music is more than just entertainment; it is a powerful medium for connection and healing. I aspire to create music that speaks to the heart, that resonates with those who have faced adversity, and that celebrates the beauty of life in all its complexities. I believe that my Southern roots, combined with my diverse musical background, position me to contribute a fresh perspective to the music industry.

As I continue to grow as an artist, I am eager to collaborate with others who share my passion for music and storytelling. I am committed to honing my craft, exploring new sounds, and reaching audiences far and wide. My journey is just beginning, and I am excited to see where this path will lead me. With every note I play and every lyric I write, I aim to inspire others to embrace their own stories and find their voice in the world.

In conclusion, I am Tequilla She Go Hard, a proud Southern soul artist with a deep love for music that transcends genres. My journey has been shaped by my upbringing, my experiences, and my unwavering passion for creativity. I look forward to the opportunity to share my music and connect with others who believe in the transformative power of art.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My journey in the entertainment industry has been a tapestry woven with both triumphs and tribulations, each thread contributing to the vibrant narrative of who I am today. Starting as a hip-hop artist, I embraced the rhythm and poetry of my experiences, but it was my transition into acting and southern soul music that truly tested my resilience and creativity.

The challenges I faced as a hip-hop artist were significant, but they paled in comparison to the hurdles I encountered as a southern soul artist. One of the most pivotal moments in my career came with the release of my breakout song, “Man About a Horse.” I poured my heart and soul into that track, featured on Fox Soul/ Fox26 Houston this song was an highlight of my introduction into Southern Soul, only to find my intellectual property infringed upon by a song titled “The Big Ole Horse.” Using my lyrics, likeness and creativity. This experience was not just a setback; it was a wake-up call. It ignited a fire within me to solidify my place in the southern soul industry and to fiercely protect my creativity.

In the face of adversity, I have learned to be a one-stop shop for my artistry. I engineer my own music, record my tracks, and even design and produce my merchandise. This hands-on approach has not only empowered me but has also instilled a sense of pride in my work. I named my brand “She Go Hard” as a testament to my unwavering commitment to give my all in everything I do. It symbolizes the relentless pursuit of my dreams and the understanding that hard work is the only path to success.

Throughout this journey, I have come to realize that understanding the music and entertainment industry is just as crucial as honing my craft. I have invested time in learning the business side of things, ensuring that my creativity is protected and that I am equipped to navigate the complexities of this ever-evolving

With the release of my movie “PRESHA” directed by Phillip Martin on Tubi and my latest single “Bad Auntie” I am excited about the next chapter in my career!
