We had the good fortune of connecting with Shavanta Fowler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shavanta, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Consistency and connection. Sweet Tooth Society didn’t just grow from baking cookies; it grew from showing up. Every pop-up, every reel, every conversation at the table is a chance to make people feel seen, remembered, and craved. I treat this like a relationship, not a transaction. From the red velvet drips to the handwritten thank-yous, I’m building a brand that tastes like love and feels like home. That human connection? That’s the secret ingredient.

What should our readers know about your business?
Running Sweet Tooth Society has been the most liberating and humbling journey of my life. What started as late-night cookie experiments in my kitchen turned into a full-fledged microbakery fueled by passion, precision, and people. I left my 9-to-5 after nearly a decade in the corporate world, not because I had it all figured out, but because I couldn’t ignore the pull to build something that was mine.

I wear every hat — founder, head baker, delivery driver, social media manager, customer service rep, and while it’s not always glamorous, it’s wildly fulfilling. I’ve learned that branding isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s about how your product makes people feel. My cookies aren’t just cookies; they’re tiny, buttery love letters.

I’ve also learned that success doesn’t come from going viral overnight. It comes from the late nights prepping for events, the conversations with customers who say “this reminds me of home,” and the grit to keep going even when things are uncertain.

What keeps me grounded is the belief that food is ministry, and through flour and butter, I get to show love.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’re starting with brunch at Seven Mile Café, then grabbing dessert from Joy Macarons. Slow morning vibes at the AC Hotel Downtown Dallas, a wine tasting stop at a Grapevine winery, some fun at Bowlero, and wrapping it all up with dinner and cowboy charm at the Fort Worth Stockyards.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’ve got to shout out my wife, Maggie — the real MVP behind the scenes. She’s been my rock through the highs and lows of building Sweet Tooth Society, encouraging me to dream bigger while reminding me to stay grounded. She lets me test cookies on her at midnight, helps design the brand, and still somehow manages to hold it down with our daughter like it’s nothing. She’s not just part of the story; she is the story!! Every cookie, every milestone, every “we sold out!” moment has her fingerprints on it.

And to my daughter — you gave your dad a reason to risk it all and go for the dream. 💙
