We had the good fortune of connecting with Shauntavia Carter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shauntavia, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my brand is showing strength in unity creating a ripple effect of positivity and helping each other BEFORE the need and getting rid of the hate so we can all elevate

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
PUSH is a brand/movement it’s the acronym for Positively Uniting 2 Strengthen &Heal it basically speaks for itself PUSH was created to get rid of the crab in the barrel mentality to build unity get rid of hate while motivating others to elevate it was created to bring back the village that is needed for our future generations and to become a positive platform as well as a clothing brand with meaning behind it something to wear with pride. No the road hasn’t always been easy but it’s been a needed and humbling experience it has taught me so much along the way and the reason behind why I push through I’ve battled thru domestic violence teen pregnancy depression and the list goes on and on but that doesn’t define my who I am it only PUSHed me to my destiny PUSH was created from the struggle from hard times and hurt feelings it was created to help with those thinking it’s the end helping them remember they can PUSH thru and it has taught me to never let one chapter or your life be the end of your story

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well I’m big on supporting black owned businesses so first I would send them to South Dallas Cafe for a bite to eat, then to the Black Girl Magic Museum to be educated on the wonderful black girl magic experience they offer, then to Chocolate Lounge Exclusive(CLX) for a night out Also book a fun twerk out class with Briana Dodd, get an awesome massage from Palm of Skills by Laquisha Sampson and before leaving stop and shop with me at the Treasure Box yr one stop shop where you can get PUSH gear and some great aromatherapy candles from Bea’s Wax owner Keianna Edwards these are all black owned businesses and a perfect example of black girl magic!
