We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaunette Oliver-Dale and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shaunette, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I listen to a motivational speaker every morning to start my day he told a story about a man who went to a business guru and said make me successful and he says ok meet me at the beach at 6 in the morning. The guy meets him (in a full suit) and the guru says come to me as he is standing out in the water the guy says I came to learn business not swim but starts to walk towards the guru fast forward he is up to the too of his head in water the guru holds him down under the water as he begins to fight and struggle the guru pulls him up and he asks just now what we’re you doing he says fighting to breathe the guru says that’s the key as long as you fight for success as bad as you wanted to breathe then you will be successful. This meant a lot to me because there are so many days I want to give up but I know that is not an option that I have to work hard as the grind will never give you anything you didn’t work for!

What should our readers know about your business?
Where do I start? Getting where I am today business-wise was a lot of trial and error. The first few years was me trying to find my lane in this treat/cake industry from pricing to marketing. In my immediate family, there are no business owners a lot of my friends had just started the process of being a business owner as well so no one had the answer on how to start and run a successful business. So as I progressed in my professional career I was able to comprehend the analytical side of the business. I challenge myself, to never stop learning I just completed my second set of business courses through Harvard University School of Business. Owning a business is hard work you can’t just come up with and expect it to make you a million dollars right away you have to work for it!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’m such a homebody so for me it would be a girls night in! But on a serious note I would for starter take her to one of the hottest hairstylist in the city Bob Da Builder! Then she would have to hit up DimeTyme Boutique for a few outfits, then Furbies for some cute sandals. I would then hit up Shantay from The Glam Kitchen for some of her amazing food. Nightlife we have to hit up 4th quarter Sports Bar!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost, I have to give honor to God he makes a way out of no way! Next up is my husband he is the behind the scenes guy the support I receive from him is incredible. I can’t forget about the unconditional love and support from my kiddos the patience they have when I come home from my full-time job to head right in the kitchen to start on orders to cleaning up after I’ve basically used every dish in the house lol. It just amazes me that this dream and business that I have started is going to bring generational wealth for my family. Last but not least I have to thank my followers and customers for supporting my dream from the likes, repost, comments, and orders.
