We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharron Christian and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sharron, what do you contribute your success to?
I feel the most important factor behind my success is keeping my faith in God 1st and knowing that without HIM this would not be possible. In addition, I’m very passionate about my vision and mission. I’m very open and fair. Also, being surrounded by people that believe in me and the vision is important. I’m not consumed or worried about being in competition with anyone. As long as I run my own race and not worry about whose in competition with me it allows me to remain focused. Having that mindset allows me to focus on promoting my brand. I don’t sleep I’m always thinking on the next move. It’s not easy, it’s an everyday battle to remain “on-point” and relevant. Along my journey, I’ve learned that not everyone is going share the same passion or be happy for me. Nonetheless…I have to look past that and remain focused.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Now, since we last spoke Diamonds on the Green has expanded to GA and AL. In addition, DC on the Green has expanded to MI. Our misson with Diamonds on the Green and DC on the Green is to be a role model for our youth. Our goal is to increase their interest and participation in golf. We will launch our DC on the Green Mentoring Program, late this year or early 2021.  This program will teach them basic life skills, proper etiquette, financial literacy, communication skills, it will take them through the college admission process, and the proper way to conduct themselves when being approached by law enforcement. In addition to the mentoring program, we have also launched our bi-weekly FB Live Summer Reading Program to promote Child Literacy.

We held our 1st annual Fundraiser December 2019 which included a “Panel of Men”.  The fundraiser was a huge success, it was a battle of the sexes and we enjoyed hearing the different perspectives.  We had vendors, raffles, prizes and gifts for all participants. All the proceeds went to DC on the Green Youth Golf/Mentoring Program.  In 2020 we will have our 2nd Annual Fundraiser which will include a “Panel of Women”.

Due to Covid-19 we had to postpone our 1st Annual Golf Tournament/Fundraiser. We have done sooo much within this last year. We supported MS, Lupus, NAMI Walks, and we volunteered with the Emmitt & Pat Smith Charity.  We are also looking forward to partnering with  “Find Our Missing” Organization in the near future. Lastly, I am very pleased to announce we have launched our signature Lemonade drinks by D’Lifeful Drinks and Smoothies.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
Cowboys Golf Club, I love to frequent Legacy Hall, West & Park, The Star, and the 4 Seasons Resort.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I wish I could name just “someone” to dedicate my shoutout to. However, I would like to give a shout out to my family and true friends that continue to support me, Diamonds on the Green, and DC on the Green. And I would like to individually recognize the members of Diamonds on the Green TX Chapter: Cheritta McCray, Jackie Davis, Diana Cage, Jamia Chislom, Zenya Davis, Debra Glasco, Janet Mayfield, Kentrice Jones, Meagan Dodds & Nicholl Aldridge; My AL Chapter President Natasha McCrary and members, GA Chapter President Catina Douglas and members. I would also give a special shoutout to my vendors and sponsors: Jon Thomas, Lou Ritchie, Pete Ealy of DC Sports for giving us the platform to create DC on the Green, XpressYourself Sportswear, ConReal; Mach 3 Golf Speed Training; DC Sports, Genesis of Dallas; No Pencil No Paper Program, ISSports; Coach Wes Francis; Get The Admit, Albranta Entertainment, Simply Inspiring Show & Dlifeful Drinks & Smoothies.
