We had the good fortune of connecting with Shannon Lochan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shannon, why did you pursue a creative career?
About 7 years ago the idea of making soap was dreamt up to fill an immediate need for skincare relief within our homes. The first items we ever made was a sugar scrub and melt and pour soap. After reading so many books and chemist forums, the adventure began. Coming up with our own recipes and formulas was fun, and rewarding to see results. We soon realized how much our friends and family enjoyed receiving our items that it inspired us to venture out. It worked. People really enjoyed our products, and here we are today.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I feel what sets us apart from others is our extensive research on keeping our products 100% natural even down to the colors you’ll see in our soaps. Every hue is derived from a botanical infusion that not only produces a beautiful piece of art, it’s also very beneficial to your skin. We spent 3 years and a lot of money formulating our recipes with lots of trial and error to perfect it. We do not use palm oil. We know supporting palm oil use is destroying wildlife so we make our choices by using ingredients that are ethically sourced. What you put on your skin is equally as important as how it is sourced.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh boy! So much fun to be had here in the Dallas area. We would start off by going to the Arboretum to enjoy some natural beauty. I have wanted to go to the XoXo dining room, the decor looks like a ladies dream place to eat. Another spot we would have to check out is Edith’s for the high tea service in the garden room. Last, but not least I would have towhead on over to the speakeasy inside of J Theodore.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Family and friends have been so supportive over the years. We have an open door policy for honest feedback in order to help us grow. We have sent surveys that took time out of our friends day and they never once complained. Our children have eczema and have tested our products endlessly, which was not always a pleasant experience for them so a big thank you is owed there. Like any good business, capital is needed, which we have our spouses to thank for believing in us and supporting us. Three years ago I moved from Florida to Frisco. The community has been so supportive and welcoming. The love and support we have received and continue to, is truly remarkable and so greatly appreciated. There are too many other names to name, but there is a handful of ladies locally that are the best cheerleaders anyone could ask for. We are all moms who support and uplift each other and come together to support our community when there is a need. A huge thank you to all of them!
