We had the good fortune of connecting with Shane Grant and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shane, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
In starting my own business I combined passion with a need I saw. Many wedding videographers in the Texas area were over priced and delivering slow almost somber films. I believed in telling the happiest story of everyones lives. My approach is telling a timeless story that lasts decades to come.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am always so excited to get on a call and hear the heart of every bride I work with. This allows me to really hone in on who they are and their main pain point. Most brides that have reached out will comment I am able to capture the candid “real moments” I believe this is what puts me apart from the rest. I have been filming for over 7 years now and have always loved to capture authentic moments. During these 7 years i’ve had a lot of setbacks from having projects crash after 10+ hours of editing and having gear stolen. Over all these setbacks have formed and taught me perseverance regardless of my circumstances.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend came to visit in Dallas I am taking them to Deep Ellum and hitting up Merit Coffee. After a vanilla iced latte I would head over to Nori for some hand roll sushi which is my absolute favorite.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shoutout my mentor Cam Christian owner of Senders Film Co. he watching his work ethic and dedication to this craft has been immensely encouraging. His style of video and sound design has inspired a lot of my own films and shown me how to run a well managed business.
