We had the good fortune of connecting with Shae Ege and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shae, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Other than deciding to build a business and a brand the single most important decision I’ve made was to marry my Wife. This not only was a huge step and plus my personal life because who doesn’t love being with their best friend? But she has helped me professionally as well being a sounding board, my support and encouragement when the times or choices are tough or even helping out in the shop in her free time on weekends or even nights. Plus she will bring the dogs down some times and having a shop dog is great for moral and clients love them. This has overall been the best and most important decision I’ve made so far.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
One of things I’m most proud about and how we’ve been able to get to where we are today is how we got started out in this industry and how fun and challenging the ride has been. We started out over 10 years ago tinting vehicles out of my families 2 car garage with a few boxes of tint and a lawn chair for people to hang out and wait while I tinted their car. I started doing this on the side of my normal day job at the time when I was 17. I would tint vehicles on the weekend and work 7 days a week for 3 months, take a weekend off and repeat, eventually I was booked 1-2 months out (out of the garage still mind you) as this progressed I realized a change needed to be made and in 2017 we started the business and went full time tinting and installing PPF. Since then we have worked on well over thousands of vehicles from Hondas, Toyotas, Bentleys, Rolls Royce and everything else in-between.

To say it was easy id be lying there 14 plus hour days in the shop where nothing was going right and wondering how insane we were? Those days looking back were a blessing in disguise teaching us how to leave the day behind and take what we learned into the next day with a fresh mind. A few of other lessons Ive learned over the years and truly believe is that everything happens for a reason wether well know it now or in hindsight. For every bad or negative situation, day or anything there is always an equal or greater positive you just have to learn to stand back and view the situation from above. The other thing I would say that has contributed to our success and how we view a lot of areas in our business is that kindness, good intentions, and doing what is right will always help and win in the long run.

For us our brand this business is not just for the here and now it is for the future as well 2, 5 and 10 years down the road we are the name in the area for great work, relationships with our clients and vendors, what can we do for and in the community/ car community down the road as we continue grow. We take pride in our clients who call us 3-7 years down the road for that new vehicle they just bought because we did a great job and got to know them, we also take pride in the fact that we care about our clients and their vehicles, trying our best that their vehicle doesn’t leave and the job is not done until we are satisfied with it and would accept it for ourselves.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
So far we’ve had some time to explore the DFW area and if one of our best friends was visiting we would start off by taking them to Hard 8 BBQ followed by some down time and hanging out. We then would see if there is anything seasonal going on around us (our family loves the holidays), we would also take them to Andretti Indoor Karting for some competition. During the week we would probably have some down time and stay around the house and fire up the smoker and smoke a brisket and other food while enjoying the company and playing some corn hole ( a staple in our family). We also do enjoy trying new places and experiences so wed probably find a new thing or two to do like trying out a hot pot restaurant or sushi place.

Some of the most fun to us is the company of the people we are around so doing pretty much anything with those closest to us like relaxing at the house, playing games, trying new places to eat, car shows, the state fair, or mini golf and everything in between is what we enjoy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
That is a loaded question, There are a handful of people out there that have shown all of those things thru out the years to help us get to where we are at now. The first and foremost is Jesus my Lord and Savior, my wife Amanda for the love, support and trust, my business partner Mike in this new venture in Texas from our long standing friendship and support thru the years to now, our families for the encouragement and always helping push us where they could. We’ve had lots of mentors over the years from other business ventures and personal friendships who have helped with perspective on risk taking, mindset, business, family life & friendship.

When it comes to reading some of my favorite books to read are; Who Moved My Cheese by Dr. Spencer Johnson, The Janitor by Todd Hopkins & Ray Hilbert
