We had the good fortune of connecting with Sergio Gonzalez Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sergio, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.

The greatest risk in life is standing still, afraid to take a chance. What’s truly at stake? Nothing compared to the regret of watching time pass you by. Life doesn’t pause it keeps moving forward, and before you know it, the years will have flown by. Imagine looking back at 60 and wishing you had dared to take those leaps. Every risk you take becomes a lesson, a stepping stone to growth. So, embrace the uncertainty, and remember: each step forward is a step toward becoming the best version of yourself. Slow motion is better than no motion.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m proud of one thing above all—never quitting and always finding the strength to keep going. Running an entire brand and company on my own is no easy task. I wear so many hats, but every challenge has taught me something valuable. From starting with pop-up events to running a retail shop, and now transitioning to a fully online e-commerce store, I’ve learned to adapt. When something stops working, I pivot, drop the ego, and make the sacrifices needed to move forward.

Community and networking have been key to getting where I am today—they truly paved the way and launched my journey. One major lesson I’ve learned along the way is this: business is business—don’t take it personally. Everyone out here is trying to make it, and competition is just part of the game. But you can’t let it discourage you—stay focused, stay in your lane, and put in the work.

I want the world to know that I’m far from where I envision my brand to be in terms of size and scale. But I’m learning to love the process and picturing the day I have a powerful team that shares the vision and is ready to help bring it to life. The story of my brand and my journey is still being written—the question is, will you be part of it or just watch from the sidelines

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Honestly, I’d probably be terrible at planning this, haha. But if I had to, we’d definitely start at D.L. Mack’s—chicken tenders and pizza would be on the menu. And trust me, these aren’t your ordinary tenders or pizza—they’re upscale, next-level stuff. Anyone reading this, you’re welcome in advance! After that, we’d hit up Gotham City, aka Deep Ellum, because you’ve got to experience it at least once. Lately, I’ve been getting into running clubs around DFW, so we’d check out one of those, maybe go for a hike in Cedar Hills. I’ve also picked up golfing, so we’d squeeze in a round at a nice course with the boys. For the rest of the day—or night—we’d just go with the flow, explore, and see where we end up.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m still on the lookout for a mentor who can guide me and teach me the ropes—it’s a journey we all share in some way. But above everything, I need to give a massive shout-out to my family and friends. They’ve been my rock throughout this entire process, offering nothing but genuine love, support, and help. Without their encouragement and lending a hand when I needed it most, I don’t think I’d still be pushing forward with my brand. So, thank you from the bottom of my heart. And to all our supporters who have connected with the brand and shared even a single moment with us—you inspire us and fuel this dream. Your love and support mean the world to us.
