We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Mcrae and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sara, how do you think about risk?
The unknown can be one of the scariest places for most, especially when putting your career at stake. As a business owner and entrepreneur having went through the chaos that is risk taking, entering unfamiliar territories, and offering a version of myself to the public eye, I can tell you that all risks are uncomfortable but oh so necessary. In an industry such as aesthetics, becoming a solo artist is one of the scariest things you can do! During the 2020 pandemic I created my business model, chose to go for it, and I’m thankful everyday that I did!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
It’s one of those things, when you know, you know. Aesthetics has always been something I knew I would fall into but it was always a matter of timing and divine intervention. In 2017 I was working as a bartender and waitress while in transition after leaving my equine vet tech job to explore the unknown. I chose to pursue permanent make up and after working in the field for roughly 3-4 months I knew this had much more risk to it than was portrayed and pursued esthetics school. This is where I fell in love with all things skin! I then took my knowledge gained in esthetics and chose to enroll in the National Laser Institute in Dallas to take my education to the next level and leave a certified Medical Aesthetician. There are a multitude of challenges with starting a new career in an industry that is foreign to you, but sticking with it and ensuring my passion was able to fuel my fire made it much sweeter in the long run! I made the hard decision this past December to close my Mckinney, TX storefront and move my business closer to home in Bonham, TX. Having gained such a clientele in the Mckinney area I knew I didn’t want to leave for good. Thankfully I knew exactly where I would want to be as the transition time approached, BeauxMD. This incredible, state of the art, facility in Downtown Mckinney has allowed me to join their team and continue to serve my clients in the best way possible, even adding on many services to my personal menu! I would like to thank Dr. Jeff Barstad, Jon Paul Nimmons, and our team of nurses at BeauxMD for their hospitality and assistance in expanding my knowledge in this industry we call Aesthetics!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I highly doubt we would leave my house. I live in a rural area just south of Bonham, TX and in my downtime I like to enjoy the serenity that is Gober, TX., my home! A good time outside grilling, drinking ranch waters, and enjoying the company of those closest to me is exactly what my favorite spot tends to be.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My support team is as big as Texas, and I’m thankful everyday for them! My clients that trust me with their beautiful faces day in and day out deserve the world, without them I wouldn’t be able to do what I do! I also have the most incredible fiancé, Spencer Roberts, that has been through so many ups and downs with me during my pursuit to success. We met far before I was in this industry and he has been my #1 supporter since day one! This doesn’t exclude the community support of my dearest friends and family, we all know it takes a village and there are SO many of you to thank for where I am today. You know who you are 💛
