We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Carlo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sara, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
I think just the whole experience of being here makes me happy. I know that sounds cliche. But honestly, it’s like-I am living! I’ve learned to completely embrace everything as it happens. What else can we do? Everything you’ve ever loved or known could be taken away in a single moment. There’s no other way to be but completely present & aware. I think being able to experience the nature of life & the love and the loss within it is to just fully embrace it, expecting it & going head first everyday. Simply being here makes me happy.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My problem is I want to experience it all! I have photography and then painting and then I’m blogging about this new restaurant in town or I’m creating a playlist every Monday with all of my favorite new music to share with my followers.  I really just want to be able to express myself across all of the different ways I enjoy life. The big picture here is that I am a messy, creative, over-analytical, millennial Mom stuck in the cycles of social media & consumerism. This whole presentation is my art display in a way. The things I experience-doing all of these things-effect the way I paint and why I paint. The music I listen to can inspire a style of photography I’m aiming for. It’s all very intertwined and connected in my head. I think the majority of the time my art or photography or what I may post is a response to the way my experiences have shaped the way I feel. I enjoy sharing the way it all makes me feel with others, because in the end we are all experience the same feelings, just in different ways.
