Meet Sara Bost Fisher | Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Bost Fisher and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sara, what role has risk played in your life or career?
My thought process has always been to go for it. As long as I am not putting myself or others in financial or any other kind of jeopardy and my gut is telling me to do it, I do it. I have always been willing to try. You don’t know if something will work unless you try. And if it doesn’t work, and I’m still passionate about it, I try a different angle. I am where I am in my career because I have been willing to try different things. Has everything worked? Absolutely not. But a lot has. It it has because I was willing to take risks.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is colorful, fun and imaginative. I like to use all different mediums to create texture, movement and interest. I am constantly trying new things and tools to create unique pieces. I have gotten where I am today because of hard work and a super supportive community. It hasn’t always been easy, but when it wasn’t, I pivoted and tried something different. Lessons I have learned along the way is to try. Try new things. Try different things. Like the saying goes: If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, my father deserves a shoutout. He was my #1 fan and always encouraged me to follow any dream I had. He once gave me a birthday card that read “DREAM YOUR DREAMS WITH OPEN EYES AND MAKE THEM COME TRUE” I keep that card where I can see it often and it is a constant motivation.
