We had the good fortune of connecting with Sam Decorato and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sam, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Our thought to starting our own business is simply this, we recognized something was missing in our beauty profession and we knew we could be the ones to provide it. We wanted to provide an establishment with highly skilled professionals that were more that average stylists, barbers, and skin care specialist providing celebrity status services at cost effective rates for our community. The beauty industry is missing the higher level customer service etiquette, and we wanted to bring this back.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Main Street Salon Suites is a full service beauty establishment that has individual salon businesses that works cohesively as one salon. There is exactly 7 business in this one establishment. We are proud of our suites lessors are either Educators, product developers, and specialists in their respective niche. Most establishments want to thrive as an individual private salon business, but our Team know that we can get grow bigger, better and faster if we work together as a single unit. Over a 10 year tinture, my wife has worked from big company store as a barber stylist to renting suites. We have discovered most times structures is missing in suites rentals and you have to market yourself which is time consuming and very hard when you’re alone. Yet we dreamed of offering something better than what has been presented before us. Gathering with like minded individuals we are able to do just that and present a better options to renters. The key is having the right individuals to see the vision and add to it.
Some of the lessons we have learned is to know exactly what it is you want and watch the divine spark place those in to you life to make the vision real.
We want the word to know we stared our business during the heightened panic of COVID-19 , and the rebuilding of Downtown Denison when, shortly after opening Main Street Salon Suites the closed our road for construction prohibiting customers from entering. We found out the true meaning of GRIT during this process. Perseverance , integrity, and a belief in your dreams is the heart of our existence, But the Grace and Mercy of God provided hope so we could endure all the tough times.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The 1st stop will be to visit Main Street Salon Suite to set the pace for an enjoyable experience of the day. You will start with a skin care service with Ciao Bella experience a dark Chocolate and Strawberry detoxification facial and declate’ massage followed by a Citrus deep cleaning pedicure at My Honey Day Spa, next we’ll detour over to (for Men’s) our Private members Grooming Spa called “The Chairman “ for an exclusive Grooming service and a Italian Hot Lather shave or (for women) MIZZICA salon or Hair By Rene for color, cut and Style. And you look good and feel good we will now go and visit Rustico for a great lunch if you enjoy authentic Latin cuisine or 34 Chop House for and incredible steak and wine. Now it’s time for fun at the Legenday Horse’s Axe with the Owner Mike and the team to throw axes, and get your own sharpens engraved axe, shoot some pool in their billiards area and arcade, enjoying drinks and others

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A combination of highly skilled professionals, business owners, and educators. First my beautiful wife, Danielle Kilgore, salon owner and colorist for having the vision of an upscale establishment, Next entrepreneur, Educator and Salon Coach Rene Teague-Osuna for her networking with the city officials and offices and training the staff here. Last but not least, Life and Business Coach, and Wellness Platform Educator Jade “The Blade” Anthony for her vision of opening an upscale men grooming Lounge and our Salon /Building manager she plans and develops the events here at the salon for education and networking.
