We had the good fortune of connecting with Ryan Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ryan, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Ever since I was little, you could catch me with a pen or pencil in my hand drawing and designing something. I have won many art awards as well as having my art displayed in the state capital when I was younger, so keeping our business in the design world was just an easy fit and something that I truly enjoy. My wife Cooper is an amazing artist as well, so having her run this business with me has been a blessing in more ways than one!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I think what sets us apart from others, is the relationships that I build with customers. Each design and piece of apparel is an exact representation of that person or business, so I truly enjoy the process of making sure that each order captures precisely what the customer was looking for. I got to where I am today professionally, from a whole lot of long days and long nights, little sleep, lots of failure, lots of lessons learned, and lots of blessings along the way. There were great days, and there were not so great days, but that is life and I wouldn’t change a single second of it. The path to success is ever-changing, and I am always humbled by the opportunity to learn something new that may help me along the way. I think if I were to just tell you just one of the lessons that I’ve learned along the way, it would have to be my most important one.. Don’t get so busy with the work that you miss out on important moments. Be sure to balance your work and family time and when possible be sure to include the family in work. Without family, the business just doesn’t work. So be sure your first priority is always family, and the rest will fall into its place. I just want to continue to see our brand spread across the nation, and hopefully one day across the globe.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First things first, we are getting them out of the city. We’ll be tucked away in the woods looking for a good pond to drop a line in, a good spot to set up camp, good food good drinks, and family all around to enjoy it with us. I’m an extremely simple guy so any friend of mine wouldn’t be expecting much, but we’d dang sure have a good time regardless! Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give the biggest shoutout to my loving wife, Cooper Harris. She is without a doubt in my mind my biggest inspiration and supporter. She is always there to push me when I need it and she is there to slow me down when she knows I’ve taken on too much. The love and support I get on a daily basis from this beautiful woman is just absolutely amazing, and I couldn’t be more thankful.
