We had the good fortune of connecting with ross cooper and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi ross, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to offer the kind of help I needed when I began my fitness journey. there were so many little nuggets of information that would’ve saved me time and anguish had I known them early on
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is named WSKI (pronounced ‘whiskey’), which is an acronym for We Stay Krushing It. it’s a mantra bourne out of a lifestyle of deciding to not just achieve goals but blow them out of the water or ‘krush’ them. What makes me different than most people that occupy the fitness space is my focus isn’t on how to get you beach ready or down to 5% bodyfat; my goal is to get you LIFE ready. Looking good in a bikini is cool but it does nothing for the 45 or 55 year old that’s got aches and pains. WSKI is about health and longevity and combating the ‘insta-fit culture’
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Given my passion for both fitness and the arts living in DFW allows me to really indulge in both. First stop is the best gym in the area (and arguably the whole of the south) Destination Dallas in Allen, TX. Then Hidden Gym in Allen as well. A quick drive south to Arlington to check out the original Metroflex Gym. To indulge in the artsy side of things there’s the Bishop Arts District and there’s plenty of spoken word events all throughout the city.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My amazing and literal life saving wife. Without her none of this would be possible
