Meet Rosi Yabur | Educator & Child Development Specialist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Rosi Yabur and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Rosi, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My journey started with a deep love for children and a passion for education. Entre Letras y Colores was born as a space to bring learning to life through colors, stories, songs, and emotions. At first, I created content to support my students and families in a more personal and creative way, especially during the pandemic. But soon I realized there was a bigger need: bilingual families and educators were searching for meaningful, respectful ways to connect with children.
That’s when Entre Letras y Colores grew into something more: a project where I could blend psychology, early education, and creativity to support both children and their caregivers. It wasn’t just about creating videos; it became a mission to nurture emotional development, imagination, and conscious parenting.
Over time, I’ve come to see Entre Letras y Colores as more than an educational platform, it’s also an invitation for adults to heal their own childhood wounds and become the adult they once needed. Every story, every song, every message is designed not just for children, but for the inner child in all of us.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career has been a journey of passion, resilience, and continuous growth. I came to the U.S. from Colombia, where I am a licensed psychologist, with big dreams but only basic English and a lot of insecurities. Honestly, it hasn’t been easy. There were times I doubted myself, felt lost, and wondered if I could really make this work. But I kept going, learning a little more each day, and slowly learning to believe in myself. Sometimes, that vulnerability made me feel exposed and unsure. But over time, I’ve come to see that vulnerability as a superpower; one that allows me to connect deeply with others who are on their own journeys of healing and growth.
What sets me apart is my unique combination of professional training in psychology, deep cultural understanding, and a heart centered approach to education. Through Entre Letras y Colores, I’ve been able to blend creativity, emotional intelligence, and respect for each child’s story. I am especially proud that my work supports not only children but also adults, helping them heal their own childhood wounds and become the nurturers they needed.
The biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way are about patience, self-compassion, and the power of vulnerability. I’ve learned that growth is a process, not a destination, and that asking for help and building a supportive community are essential. I want the world to know that my brand is more than education; it’s about connection, healing, and hope. I am excited about continuing to grow as a professional and as a person, and to keep creating spaces where children and adults alike can thrive emotionally and creatively.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to visit me in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, I’d keep things fun, relaxing, and full of good vibes. We’d definitely go to the Fort Worth Stockyards, it’s such a unique place, and I love the cowboy feel and the little shops. We’d also visit the Dallas Arboretum, which is one of my favorite peaceful spots. It’s so beautiful and calming.
For food, I’d take them to Gloria’s, the food is amazing and it has that Latin flavor that always makes me feel at home. If we’re in the mood for something more chill, we’d just grab a coffee, walk around some cute areas, maybe go to a museum if we feel like being artsy.
Honestly, it wouldn’t be about doing all the touristy things, it would be about enjoying slow mornings, talking a lot, laughing, and just being present together. That’s my kind of perfect week.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely. One of the biggest inspirations in my journey has been Dr. Becky Bailey and the Conscious Discipline program. Her work completely transformed the way I understand children’s behavior and emotional development. It gave me the tools and the language to create safe, respectful, and emotionally intelligent learning environments. Her philosophy has deeply shaped the heart of Entre Letras y Colores.
I also want to give a special shoutout to my husband, Alexander Penuela. He’s not only my biggest supporter but also my business partner. He has believed in this project from the very beginning, offering me his time, ideas, and unconditional encouragement. I truly couldn’t do this without him.
