We had the good fortune of connecting with Rod Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rod, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
Honestly. Let go and let GOD. And stop looking to the left or right to what everyone else is doing in business, and do what works for your company. Especially in this social media era, it’s easy to scroll and see everyones highlight reel and it can make you feel inadequate. Like you’re not doing enough or that you need to do something else because it worked for someone you follow. But the truth is, your time will come. And thats why I say let go and let GOD. This journey of entrepreneurship is an amazing journey if you just Use Your Gifts that GOD gave you. Yes it can be frustrating when things don’t go as you planned it, but GOD has a plan for you. And when you move in faith doors that looked closed will open but also doors that seemed open will close. Take it all in the same. Never waver.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a Faith Based streetwear brand what sets us apart from some brands doing the same thing is, we are not promoting and doing Church based events. We have literally done 1 church event in 5 years. We feel its not were we where called to be. We do Clubs, Music Festivals and Sneaker Events. We do Pop ups at Babershops and outside of different venues. We love being able to show why we are in this business and its not for the money, its to introduce GOD to people right where they are at in life. To not condemn and show them love, which is what we are commanded to do. Also we focus on putting a great word with art and not just words with fonts you can grab off online. We are most proud when someone tells us what the march that they buy means to them because of the message, but even more proud when they compliment our quality and customer service. Which is a lost art in Business. A lot of people are finding ways to cut cost and they end up cutting the customer in return. We would rather lose money than lose a customer. Even if you messed up your order on your end. We make sure we fix it and that the customer is happy. The people are our main concern. None of this is easy. Ive been to events where 3/4ths of the venue walk by you for hours, but the 1/4th that does stop by we are able to impact them past what they purchase from us. And thats a dope feeling. Also as a Combat Vet with PTSD, this business helps me. It keeps my mind on things other than the things that run through my mind from Iraq. It gives me an extra something to get up to in the morning. Gives me that sense of purpose I had in the U.S Army. And im grateful for that.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is about to be boring but hear me out. 1st things 1st, they are going to want to eat so usually my 1st stop is to Frezko Taco Spot. Any location will do. The Chef/Owner is a family friend so he always hooks up my people. We defiantly have to hit up Top Golf or Andrettis. And just to hang and see the nightlife, we can go to Frida Social Club of of McKinney Ave. The owner Michelle Avila is on oof my closest friends. Its always a good time there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My wife for putting the battery in back. Always letting me know the real. My graphic designer KNS. He makes everything effortlessly. My brother Bentley Green. He always puts me on to fashion and trends. Teaches me photography and editing. He’s always a call away whenever I need him and im grateful for that. And my Brand Consultant Aubrey ” Big Juice ” Delaine. No matter what he has going on, he always takes time to give honest critique on all the products I have put out since Day !. He’s also the one who has to remind me who I am when Im down or frustrated. Everyone needs someone like that in business.
