We had the good fortune of connecting with Rochelle Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Rochelle, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting Chamomile & Lace came from a mix of passion, purpose, and problem-solving. I’ve always been drawn to the artistry of handcrafted products, especially those that promote self-care and well-being. But when I looked at the personal care products on the market, I saw a gap — too many were filled with unnecessary chemicals, lacked authenticity, or didn’t offer the sensory, uplifting experience I felt skincare should provide.

I wanted to create something that was not only beautiful and luxurious, but also safe, skin-loving, and crafted with integrity. Chamomile & Lace was born out of a desire to offer high-quality, handmade products that turn everyday routines into moments of self-indulgence — using ingredients people can feel good about.

It was also about creating a brand that reflected my own values: creativity, attention to detail, and community connection. From the scents to the textures to the packaging, every decision is intentional, designed to make people feel cared for and special

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
For me, it’s not just about making something that smells beautiful — it’s about the entire sensory experience: the look, the feel, the aroma, and the emotional connection it creates. Every product is designed to feel special, from the ingredients I choose to the packaging that wraps it.

What sets Chamomile & Lace apart is our attention to detail and intentionality. I don’t create products just to fill a shelf — I create them to tell a story, to connect with a mood or a season, and to evoke a feeling. I’m proud that customers come back not just because they love the products, but because they trust the quality and care that goes into them.

Getting to where I am today has not been easy. Learning to make soap itself was a challenge — it required patience, research, trial and error, and a lot of determination. Like many small business owners, I’ve faced the challenge of wearing all the hats — creator, marketer, accountant, event planner — all while learning on the go. There were moments of doubt and times when the workload felt overwhelming, but I overcame those challenges by leaning on my support system, staying adaptable, and reminding myself why I started.

The biggest lessons I’ve learned are that consistency builds trust, adaptability keeps you growing, and community is everything. And as women, we can do anything we set our minds to — every step forward is proof of our strength, creativity, and resilience.

What I want the world to know about Chamomile & Lace is that it’s built from the heart. Every product is handcrafted with a blend of artistry, high-quality ingredients, and genuine care. This brand is my way of bringing a little bit of beauty and comfort into people’s lives — because everyone deserves to feel special in the everyday

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, I’d want to give them the perfect mix of great food, unique shopping, beautiful sights, and memorable experiences that really show off the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

We’d start the week with a day at Grandscape in The Colony — it’s such a fun spot for shopping, dining, and just walking around. We’d grab lunch at Seven Doors Kitchen & Cocktails, explore all the boutiques, and maybe end the night at Lava Cantina for live music.

Another day, we’d head to downtown Dallas to explore the AT&T Discovery District. It’s a vibrant spot with incredible digital art displays, outdoor seating, and delicious food options. We’d have lunch at Jaxon Texas Kitchen & Beer Garden, then wander over to the Dallas Arts District to visit a couple of museums.

Midweek, we’d spend a full day at Legacy West in Plano — one of my favorite places for upscale shopping and amazing dining. We’d shop the boutiques, grab coffee at Brewed + Pressed, and then have dinner at Kai or Toulouse Café for a special night out.

We’d also make time for an evening at Trinity Groves — the perfect spot to sample a variety of unique restaurants all in one place while enjoying a great view of the Dallas skyline. It’s a foodie’s dream and a fun, social atmosphere to cap off a night.

Of course, no trip to the area would be complete without visiting a few local markets or pop-ups where Chamomile & Lace might be set up — because supporting small businesses is always part of the fun. We’d also take some time to explore the Design District for its unique galleries, furniture showrooms, and art spaces.

The week would be a blend of big-city energy and local charm — eating our way through great restaurants, discovering local artisans, enjoying live music, and soaking up the vibrant culture that makes this area so special.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Absolutely — my biggest shoutout goes to my husband, Jamal Robinson. From day one, he has been my rock, my motivator, and my voice of reason when I start dreaming bigger than the day’s hours seem to allow. He’s the one who encouraged me to take the leap into building Chamomile & Lace, reminding me that my creativity and passion were worth sharing with the world.

Jamal has supported me in countless ways — from helping with markets and events, to brainstorming new ideas, to being there during late nights of labeling, pouring, and packing orders. He believes in me even on the days I doubt myself, and that kind of unwavering support has been a driving force behind the growth of this business. Chamomile & Lace is as much his dream as it is mine.
